This week I received my new UMI Z. It works great but I have a problem with the screen. There is a wide line from top to bottom on the screen. It is there after one day of use. If I clean the screen perfectly, you cannot see it, but after touching the screen, it appears again. I think that the problem is the oleophobic coating. I have bought a screen protector not to see the white line when the screen is off, but i think it is not the solution. I saw the same problem in youtube, here:

More or less at 1.50 minutes of the video. My line is like shown in the video, but at least 1,5 cm wide.

Some of you have the same problem? My color is black/gray and when the screen is off, it is awful because of the issue. The same when I am under the sun, then even if the screen is on, you can see the line.

My was also build on 5th Jan 2017 and has the line on the screen. I think the date has nothing to do with this, it is just quality control.

I dont have that thing on the back of the screen.
I assume its something that do so maybe moisture want to acuminate/ condensate there, find it hard to come up anything else that could get into the phone casing.

But i say again UMI need to up QA and they need to sit on the new phones for longer before they are released as more polished phones.
If they dont they will just be one of many others ( not hardcore phone user or knowledge about them )
But from other Chinese products i know there is companies that just throw stuff out there and then move on as if nothing happened, so you will see little if any support.
And then there is the few companies that really try hard to launch good products and work hard to support them and not make customers feel left behind.
And it is that last kind of company UMI need to become, cuz today it is just about the one thing where you can set yourself apart from the masses today, and thats customer care ( even some really big super rich international companies have really bad customer care )

And it is a thing that is becoming more and more in focus from users, and if they can get good buyer safety and customer care, they will even pay a little bit more for a product, and you dont even have to sell then a super high performing product, people just want to be sure what they got is good enough and they made a good decision buying that product.

Please contact to seller for warranty.
I would do exactly the same temporary solution as you have done (screen protector)

Your serial number is telling, when it was build.

MY was build 5th January 2017
I have not that issues like you have.
