Recently got my UMI Z via a compitition. I'm very happy with it. Only one problem.

The notification bar is sometimes being pulled down randomly. Even when i am not touching the screen. It's very annoying.
Are there more people with this problem? Any solutions?

Thanks.

How come U can be so certain in this. It's not only two or three guys having the same issue. I bel ...

What do you expect from a 200$ phone with up-to-date-hardware? They try to save some $ with low quality parts. Parts that are not obvious at the first sight. In this case UMI propably used a cheap poor quality digitizer. How many people do check the precision of their touchscreen? If you want to know more about this problem just use google "Ghost/Phantom Touch Touchscreen". Many cheap chinese phones/tablets suffer from this problem.

Could be a digitizer issue. Try to install this app or similar one.
  1. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp.stest
Copy the Code
and test the touchscreen input. I saw some phones with faulty digitizers that registered touches or swipes on its own.

Edited by Spikyxpto at 2017-2-5 18:45 \n\nI have already done a factory reset but the problem continues. I tried the app to test screen inputs and there is an input in the upper right corner as you can see in the video.

Thank you for making this video. Exactly the problem i was describing.

A wipe didn't resolve the problem. I haven't flashed the rom again since i have never done that before.

Could you please remove the packing screen protector (that's not for use), reboot your phone and try again?

It's not an Software problem. It's a hardware issue. The Digitizer cause this problem. It register touches where none are. Just look for "Ghost/Phantom touch" and you will find many phones/tablets with this problem. There is NO Software fix. Conntact your seller and get a replacement. Be wary, the problem may disappear for some time, but it will come back even more worse with dead spots on the screen. Already made this experience with 2 phones.
