I have to agree with your comment about excellent hardware,for the money it is
beyond criticism. But let down by such poor software.Its probably the worst I have come
across.I am continuing to use my super as a daily driver,but I too am looking for
a new phone and the Hauwei does look really good in both hardware and software
+ decent after sales support.

There is no way I will ever contemplate an apple device,
that's just a big no from me,have,and always will be,an android fan.
I so agree that had umi/umidigi dine their homework and market research,
they really could have captured a good share of the market and had an extremely
loyal fan base.I don't get the need to rush phones to market,especially when next
to no work has been done on the software side of things.
As  a fan of stock android I don't see how they've got things so wrong,it seems
simple enough to me,stock android deployed,no skins to worry about,so all should be good.
And yes,a clean easy way to root would've been ideal,they were half way there on some models,
due to allowing the bootloader to be unlocked so easily.

I also wish S2 Pro used Android 7, or Android 8, not Umidigi OS. What is Umidigi OS, can we trust an android OS that is not pure Android OS?

\n\nSo... Umidigi S2 Pro won't be never on Oreo... OK! BUT! There are a lot of issues with the existing ROM. No secondary camera usage. But why? The phone does not using the secondary camera on the back. The launcher is a piece of s.it... When waking up the phone, it is slowing down. Can't type nothing, like a Galaxy Ace I... With 6GB ram, and a boosted processor may should be better performance there. Why not optimizing the UMI OS? Why not doing nothing for the existing costumers? You will lose the costumers, and the costumers will tell others, that NOT TO BUY A NOT SUPPORTED, overadvertised tamagochi... DO a freakin update to fix these problems. In europe we have the chance to sue the Firm for deceiving the buyer... (overadvertising, no secondary camera, no support, no security updates, no nothing...)

You don't need this, and the costumers also don't need this. LET US HAVE A STABLE ROM, and an optimized phone please..:!

And now I'm still using UMIDIGI_S2_PRO_V1.0_20171227 OV... No updates via WIFI

There is OTA update, build number is the same but kernel version will change to February.
If you are already on February kernel then you will not receive any update because this is latest.

you have OTA zip file and local update instruction which is very simple to do.

First of all, thanks for help. I tried twice to update, via local update as seen on thread in link. It is failed, so i'll make it at home with other methods. Thanks for help again. Have a nice Day.

Hey Wiera,

I did install  https://www.movilesdualsim.com/t ... _mod_mdsdev.187988/  this rom and for me it worked pretty good.
With it I can use it as a daily phone and hope Umidigi is coming with a decent rom let it be android 7 or 8 if its only good, and working.
Sad that its potential is not alricht with this bad software.

I have bad feelings about Umidigi... They doing sh.t on our faces. Good plate, really bad software. Thousands of threads writing the problems, and they doing nothing. I won't never buy any china shit in future again Elephone was the same.
And also will tell my Friends, that they shouldn't buy these unsupported things

Thats for me the most irritating thing, that they are not doing anything to help us.I did also read on several Forums and the comment was not good.
But i still hope that someone can give us a hand.... the phone itself is good.
If they only let us have the tool tot unlock and root it then i would be very happy.

There is no plans to upgrade firmware. System bugs are fixed in latest update.

Not all .. Facebook is bugging also whatsapp game like "dama" and the touch of my phone does not stop bugging .. I guess i'm going to trow my S2 Pro and buy an oneplus
