4G icon with lte looks like this 4G4g, kinda wierd.Music cuts out when recieving text message.
Bottom firing speaker has an option to enhance bass response under settings, sound, last option in the list.
I found the speaker to be Loud enough but not as Loud as an Axon 7
Sound enhancements in the music app, EQ, Bass, and spatializer.
Carbon fiber Model looks awesome!
Has slippery gestures but I prefer regular capacitive on screen 3 button layout.
Can't get tap another device NFC to work.
I was sent european charger with an adapter for US plug, Others have recieved a standard US charging brick.
Comes with screen protector pre-applied.
Nice textured black case, would prefer Clear.
Solid build, fits well in the hand for a 6.2" screen.
I haven't tried fingerprint scanner due to pin lock out issues.
    Note; I powered off the phone and the pin lock did Not lock me out like others have experienced.Edit: I'm using 20181116-1715 rom
I'm using face unlock now and it does work in the dark. Very fast unlock.
Fast and fluid UI mostly Stock android 8.1.0.
Games like Galaxy of Heroes, Pubg, RealRacing work fine lag free.
No issues with dual band wifi hooks up to my 5ghz signal no problem.
Got it for $255 during Flash sale at Gearbest!
Works as specified with my 15W Qi wireless charger and Quickcharge 3.0 brick.
Camera does not have 4k recording but does have EIS for video @ 1080p and an AntiShake option for pictures.
Pictures are Crisp and clear. Focusing still random, tap to focus remidies the problem. Selecting continuous focus in Open camera fixes focusing.
Videos with Open Camera support continuous focus.
Nice sharp focus on video decent exposures to when going from dark to light subjects
Cannot connect to Geekbench server say "must have an active internet connection," when I am in fact connected to my wifi.

I've been reading through the forum and i see that there is a bunch of mix emotions regarding the device....


My questions are:

1. Will this device receive Android 9 (Pie) Update?
2. what Security Patch is the Z2 Pro currently on? and how long will the device continue to receive Security Patches?

I've had the Z2 Pro now for about a month and honestly, it's one of the best phones I've owned (and I've owned a lot of phones...Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi etc.). It's been reliable and everything works great for me (NFC, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Netflix). The build quality is impressive. Looks and feels like a $600 phone.

The feature set is amazing for the price. The MTK P60 SoC is fast (equal to Snapdragon 660 performance) and the memory interface is really fast as well. If this thing had a 3.5mm headphone jack, it would be the perfect phone. The GPU is merely average, but I can play PUBG fine with it but I have to lower the setting some to get it to play smoothly.

To your questions:
1) It doesn't seem like Umidigi is planning an update to Android Pie for this device. There was a post here by one admin saying it was planned, while another said that it wasn't likely. So I guess we'll have to wait and see. But I'm not holding my breath. In any case, there are launchers out there that can give a Pie look-and-feel to Oreo devices, so this aspect wasn't a deal-breaker for me.

2) The current security patch is from early July 2018, and hasn't been updated yet. I asked about this in another thread here but haven't received a reply as of yet. This is actually more important to me than a 9.0 update. I'm hoping it's just a matter of time until they send out an OTA security patch for this phone. I'd hate to have to stop using it because of this. I really love this phone and have already recommended it to two other people who also think it's great.

Hi,
Further upgrades are not planned for any of devices with Android 8.
First Umidigi device with Android 9 will be Umidigi F1 and start pre sale from around next week.
About security patches, we only updating security patches if there is security problems, on current patches we didn't experience any issues.

I cannot connect my umidigi z2 pro wirelessly to my dell pc through my phone's hotspot. It is not showing up in wifi list on my pc.  What must be wrong. Pl reply.

hello,

great to hear from you about the update.

but this is serious issue, becoz everyone want to upgrade to latest os and features and also umidigi z2 pro only released less then year with out android 9 .

not receiving update of latest android for the latest phone , cause a loss of umidigi phone users day by day.
