How can the UMI hammer be a discontinued product??? It was released a few months ago, and having a 64bits processor, Android Lollipop is clearly expected by all the Hammer users. UMI is responsible for this product and should provide a stable stock LP version in roojoy. Every passing day without it, UMI is disappointing and annoying more and more of its customers.

Edited by grooeygroo at 2015-11-20 03:02 \n\nThere is a Lollipop upgrade from cinafoniaci.com and it's excellent!  No, it's not available through Rootjoy and quite probably never will be, but it's really not hard to install with the SP Flash tool.  You DO need an account with Needrom but it is *totally* worth the effort.

I found my battery life improved dramatically - I'm in a very poor signal area when at work, and previously this killed my battery from 100% to 10% in about 5 hours.  Now it shows 65% after 10 hours and still going well.
The phone is very fast, the recovery mode is very cool, and there's very little to complain about.  It did bork my IMEI numbers but that can be fixed with the engineering mode trick.  The camera is also rubbish, you need to download the Google Camera app, but generally I'm very pleased with the update.

I'm afraid that's not possible to upgrade from KitKat to lollipop with Rootjoy since the new Android version needs a different partition table that can be set and flash by SP Flash Tool only. So, instead of waiting, I recommend you to upgrade your phone with SPFT.

And moreover, that's not a stock ROM as s7yler claims but probably a ported one. That's the reason of the many bugs. The UMI Hammer is a discontinued product and I'm afraid, an official lollipop upgrade will never be released for it.

The Hammer is not in production anymore for months, so it's discontinued. It's been replaced by its successor, the Hammer S. Maybe for economical reasons. If UMI promised the upcoming lollipop upgrade in their adds (like as at the eMAX), then they're responsible for it. If didn't, then they're not.
That's a question about both eMAX and Hammer, why wasn't them released with lollipop initially. The Rootjoy app is not suitable for changing between Android versions. By simple saying: you can update with Rootjoy but not upgrade.

I'm sorry but it stated that umi hammer will have android 5.1 that's the only reason why most of us bought the phone and that there would be aload of ROMs for it but hardly any ROMs and no 5.1 either this was my first and last umi phone I'll every buy as soon. As my pre sale phone gets shipped this one goes in the bin
