Edited by odedshankar at 2017-1-28 07:28 \n\nHi Guys,

I just got my new UMI Z yesterday.
It looks like a lovely phone but up to now i found 2 disturbing issues, and i wondered if there is some solutions for them:
1. Battery is draining very fast - with basic apps and without using it it drops in one hour from a 100% to 79% - any idea why it can happen?
2. The ear speaker is very very low even on maximum volume i can hardly hear the person on the other side - any idea how and if it can be solved?

Also the sound is a bit distorted on high volumes in general comparing to other quality phones, i had a Meizu MX4 Pro before and the sound was crisp and strong comparing to the UMI Z - it is something that can be optiimized in the firmware? or an actual low grade sound hardware inside?

Cheers,
Oded

Confirm. Battery is draining too fast. It kills extra big battery advantage. This's task number one after the new year

Edited by j.nuke at 2017-1-30 16:33 \n\nSame problem here, I have to charge the phone twice a day. I've installed the latest update,  the problem is still the same. Hope a future update will fix this.

Did you guys tried to do a factory reset after an OTA update? Also posting some of the battery usage stats would be helpful.

UMI phones are stylish and look really nice. The Umi engineers do an excellent job in design, they are vert smart and bring out a new phone almost every month. Now how brilliant is that! Also, my UMi Rome matches the design of my new Italian business suit and the back cover is exactly the same color as my new shoes. When I'm on business in my Italian suit and pull out my UMi Rome,  people at the business meetings are very impressed. The back cover also matches the color of my American Express Centurian Business card - another fantastic plus for the UMi Rome. Whow what a beautiful phone!

I've had the phone a little less than 11 months and it hasn't worked for the last 3 months. The battery has swollen to 4 times it's size and when the phone did work the phone got very hot. The screen doesn't work. I press one icon and something else loads.

But the fact that the UMi Rome doesn't work doesn't matter. It matches my suiit, shoes, charge card, so what else can I ask for in a mobile phone?

I´m sorry you have a problem with your Umi phone, but I can´t see how does it relates to Umi Z battery drain discussed in this post. Just RMA the phone and get a new one.

the system is draining a lot of the battery. In 4 hours of a little use goes from 100% to 80%. I had a umi plus with 7.0 and normally was at 95%.
I only receive the umi z yesterday i will do more tests to see..

I would advice anyone with a Umi Z to root your device and install a power saving app that kills all the wakelocks and alarms. One app i can recommend is naptime. When the umi z gets a software update i'm sure this will be addressed and battery life should be more optimized.

With Naptime by toggling in the "Aggressive doze" options (and assuming you're rooted) Doze will kick in right after you screen off AND it disables your sensors so that it doesn't kick you out from doze mode if you move around. When your device screens on everything goes back to normal. It's just like a charm and i used this myself when Umi Super had the Nougat 7 first final release which also drains the battery quite a lot.

Feel free to download it here: https://play.google.com/store/ap ... o.doze&hl=en_GB

Make sure you root your device first.
