Hi,

I hope this is not the typical Chinese newcomer case, that first a phone with
good specs & good price are promised and later the trouble will start, the product is
not with the promised specs, then the support first promises to fix everything ASAP,
later just keeps silent and starts delete customer complain messages.

One seller claims, that product is faulty, but UMI denies such information,
however customers are complaining about serious problems and we have none
official information about 100% true specs, for example about sensors, customers
are asking, but UMI doesn't answer, so we don'tknow which sensors phone includes etc.

Right now I'm not sure about this product. I'd like to buy it and I will wait a bit
longer. Buteven the greatest product is easy to ruin with bad support.

Please advise?

So we still don't know, does the UMI Iron have hardware accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass?
...

Hi ats. I think you've missed my post on the previous page. The Iron does not have the gyroscope or magnetometer sensors and they are not listed on the official product page on umidigi.com.

I hope this helps.

Hi all,

I would think the fact that 2 ROM updates have come out for the Iron over the past 2 weeks addressing user issues would indicate that UMI are not "just keeps silent and starts delete customer complain messages".

Also, in regards to the sensors, if you have a look at the official Iron product specs page: http://www.umidigi.com/?page-UMIIRON_Specation.html you will see that there is no gyroscope or magnetometer sensor stated. I've learnt from experience to be wary of pre-release specs for any phone (not just Chinese phones) and to wait until full release for the actual specs.

I hope this helps.

I'm sure, I'll check all the hardware components and post it to the forum when my device arrives.

I don't know why nobody give a straight answer to the sensors. I have asked it several times on different places.
Also asked about the Camera2 API implementation, but no answer.

Both can be read in software like MTK Engineering Mode and Manual Camera Compatibility but non of the reviewers check it. They also don't check the camera sensors.

Seems like Umi and their partners just doesn't answer to questions when the answer would be negative.

Edited by arya5 at 2015-8-10 22:30 \n\nHi! I owe an Umi Iron and had some issues with it, but talked to Umi support and they released updates in order to fix them. About sensors... AnTuTu shows a 19.7 mpx sensor, but it is actually 13 mpx, so I think that AnTuTu is just reading some kind of system information file, because 19.7 is the maximum interpollated resolution of the camera...

Replied to your thread.
Also if I were Umi, I would appoint 1 moderator/device who owns that device.
Now the moderators (in some device's topic) trying to help without owning the device.

In fact actually, there are few users who still received Iron updated and tested, with updates and  resolutions of any problems that characterized the first batch of test devices distributed to insiders, to test them. I honestly do not understand those who raise doubts even before receiving the phone and use it personally.

@ladrodibestiame: Check th33xitus's post.
The device he has is not a test device but the magnetometer and gyroscope still doesn't work.
I don't judge before I use it myself, I'm just want to see clear.
I'll test my unit and write a review with my findings. That will be my opinion from the device.
Until that, I'm just curious about the hardware.

Perfect. I've already checked th33xitu's post. I am also very curious to know more, but we certainly can not create a statistic with a device that is yet to come and that when two or three people who have just received.
Until that I'm only curious to have Iron in my hands.

In addition to Gruffles' post, in my opinion, Antutu indicates a MTK Magnetometer and MTK Gyro because the MTK6753 support them but not implemented by UMI.
