Issue Search and Destroy

\n\nSo far these issues have appeared on my phone:
Dual-sim problem related to the flash;
Touch Screen problem on scrooling nav. bar;
High battery drain;
Dust in front camera;

I'm not reponsible for any explosion, injuries, global war, etc.
Don't strip you your phone if you're not in a very clean environment and know what you're doing...

These were the solutions so far:
-> Dual-sim problem related to the flash (camera already in use):
     Ensure that the sim for DATA is the same as VOICE or use 1 sim only, (Fixed on last 7.1 rom);
-> Touch Screen problem on scrooling nav. bar:
     Appeared on the last ROM, no fixes found. (fixed after full formatting the internal memory -yeah IMEI and SN lost-, seems to be related to Calibration data);
--- Edit: The recalibration only seems to attenuate it, but I still got the issue. Seems like the touch events are being ignored near screen edge---

-> High battery drain:
     Appeared on the first 7.1 rom and persists, fixes are from reflashing till diagnosing the logcat for insane
     power hungry apps and removing them. (Seems better after clean reflash of the last update, phone now goes into deep sleep--sometimes--).

-> Dust in front camera:
     Not a better way than opening it apart so far, put a piece of insulating tape to prevent dust again.(worked so far...)

Not happened to me but readed it here and in XDA:

-> Battery swollen:
    Well, if it's only a bit swollen (the back of your phone seems to emit an empty noise when you hit it with     your nail but nothing is visible from outside) use an low current usb charger of 1A or around it and buy a
    new battery (and then open your phone and etc...). If it's swollen to the point that your frame is bent stop
    using it and dont charge neither, just buy yourself new battery (and then open your phone and etc...).
    Seems like one german's phone have exploded already...


-> Excessive heat:
    Dont you dare to use your phone when it's fast charging (light apps will do fine but calls, games and videos may heat it a lot).
    Seems to accelerate the battery degradation and may lead to explosion! The high battery drain solution may help also.


I'll try to add new fixes as I got problems (hope not) or read them in XDA or here...

Again :

Fix for most system errors and advised procedure to do before and an hour after full flash of an ROM:

This will erase everything in your phone including the media, contacts, apps, EVERYTHING:


Go to settings->Backup & Reset->Factory data reset.


If you can't access settings you can as follows:

This is the fail-safe factory formatting for your phone, it is designed for the cases that you can't do nothing,
so it's very powerfull and wipes out almost the entire phone (can make your rom unusable and in need for a reflash)....

Boot into recovery and then factory format.

How to boot into recovery:

Turn off your phone;
Press volume up and power untill screen goes on;
Select recovery mode with volume up button only and press ok with volume down;Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to go pass the no command screen;
Select factory format with volume buttons;
Hit ok with power button and then reset our phone...

If it didn't work after a factory format you can try this:

There's a way to force your phone to use the mobile DATA connection:

Go to developer options and enable "agressive WiFi to cellular handover";
you can well enable the "celular data always active", but it will make your
phone a bit power hungry...

How to enable developer mode:
go to settings->About phone and touch few times on the build number

how to disable it:
after you open developer options in settings there's a big on switch, just turn it off...

Cell data should stop working after connecting to Wi-Fi as this is extra feature from android 7.

It's after you was connected, so you're not connected anymore but the data doesn't get back unless you reset the phone.
Sorry for the misinterpretation possibilities....

->Permissions problems:

I advise you that you may got issues by messing with it.
To reset app preferences (fix most problems):
You can go settings->Apps->Options (three dots up right)->reset app preferences

To mess up with the permissions (may get you into trouble):
You can go settings->Apps->Configure apps (that gear up right)->app permissions and mess up there.

      Issue: Zpro goes agressively to 3G

     Workaround: Setting the 4g only mode on the DATA SIM:

There's a way to force the 4g mode if you wish:

I'm not responsible for any bricks, fire, global war, etc...

Dial *#*#3646633#*#* , go network selecting  > select the sim with 4g (data sim) > select LTE only.

But you may need to change it back if got no 4g signal as it won go back to 3g alone anymore...
There's an observation: Only on SIM (DATA) can be at 4g at a time (As far as I could test).Update:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you wish to enable SMS over LTE:
As far as I know it's possible if your carrier support SMS over sgs.
If you wish to test check if it's enabled at:

Hi doiido... Is there an alternative to getting around an issue that I encounter in dual camera after upgrade 7.1.1 in which there is unstable white balance (coloring bug) for example: green appears as bluish tone and other colors are out of reality, my z pro besides the focus is always misaligned the quality of the photo is horrible, however this bug is not in the application camera z pro, it seems is rooted in the drivers... will you work on a customized rom z pro? .. Fix for us this question ... or the umi devs can still...

does anyone noticed that fast charging has disappeared?
my phone was replaced after battery swollen.
maybe fast charging is not enabled  for safety issues in new update or what?

Are you sure that it's not a problem related to a random issue by a bad flash?
Try to do a factory format, reflash you ROM as firmware upgrade using the flash tutorial on:
http://community.umidigi.com/forum-150-1.html
And, after an hour do a factory format again.
