Hello UMIDIGI, I thought that your engineers should test the updates on your phone first.

Today I received notification on a firmware update cannot recollect whether it is 2311 or 2511 about 62 or 64MB. I download it and update.

The phone is now sitting besides me all blank. Nothing is working. Even plugging the charger to it no notification light is ON.

Common, this is getting serious. How can an official OTA does this to a phone.

Moderators, please advise resolution.
CRYSTAL OWNERS **** WARNING**** DO NOT UPDATE THE NOVEMBER OTA FIRMWARE RELEASE AS IT WILL RENDER YOUR PHONE USELESS.

Possibly only the 4GB/64GB version

Hi guys.We feel very sorry for your inconvenience with latest OTA update.
Currently we fully stopped OTA update and working on solution for bricked devices.
We suspecting that somebody hacked server with OTA update.
Definitely only Umidigi Crystal High (4GB/64GB) is affected.
We will keep you inform with further steps.
Unfortunately currently I can't give you solution to restore your device.
Sincerely Marcin

Never install unannounced firmware that has not been discussed and approved by users.  That is why I came to check here, and that is why my phone is not a brick!

I truly understand your stand, but at any point UMIDIGI should test the OTA updates before spreading it out to the market. This is an official  UMIDIGI OTA update that most crytals owners are dying to get to improve the functionality of the device.

Because if no one tried it, we do not know the result of the OTA. Rendering the phone useless of course is not acceptable be it for one or thousands of Crystal owners.

After today's automatic update, the phone has not turned on again, it does not show signs of life.

Very smart comment. Before every OTA always check the forum and wait for the first person who gets a bricked phone and reports it.

So realistically UMIDIGI are not interested in the issues for anybody outside China as the cost of returning the pone makes it pointless.
What a scam

I have the same problem with crystal 4/64 bought in September, two days ago I made the update ota official umidigi, the phone has turned off and does not come on again, not signs of life,
it is inconceppibile that UMIDIGI does not test the updates before to release them to the public.
Tell me what I have to do, I contacted the seller but he still has not replied,
I would like another phone,
all my work is inside the phone,
you can not imagine how much damage you have done to me.
I hope the situation is solved soon,

Alessandro

Hello, I do not want to be paranoid but what will happen with our data, photos, emails, accounts, etc, when we will return the phone. Given the way UMI manages the crisis, I have doubts. Serious doubts.

I posted at the first this problem yesterday. I got a message for an new update and I did it on two phones. The second phone 2 minutes later than the first one. Now both are absolutelly dead. I can do wath I want, no reaction. A reset is also not possible. I want to get my money back, no discussion.

We wait for the moderators/UMIDIGI Admin to step in and advise the resolution on the issue. It is not acceptable that an official OTA firmware update can render the phone useless.

In the meantime I wrote to the UMI DIGI Store about my seller Aliexpress. They want to see a video of the phone. I asked them for what? To see a dead phone?

Is the philosophy at Umidigi to throw something together and release it before fully testing it?  You did that with the phone and are now doing it with the updates.
The same OTA update has also killed my phone.  Please advise how you intend to repair this or provide a refund.

Umidigi - Over promising, under delivering.

DO NOT INSTALL THE LATEST OFFICIAL OTA UPDATE!!!
Hope someone reads it, my phone is dead, too. What a mess. I am curious how Umi will fix that.
