Hello,

I just received my Z2 pro and i have solved the pin code problem by completely turn off the phone and on restart the pin code was accepted.

Nope. Problem still present on my Z2 PRO.
Three days i have this piece of metal and glass unusable and useless.
I'm checking the way to give back to GearBest and ask for a refund.
Really angry with UMI, i'm losing some data, still into the phone, and i'm thinking about a complaint for damages.

Gearbest were quick to help arrange my return - i waited to see if an update would come this thursday but as expected, that came and went so back it went. They were very helpful and had the return paperwork through in about a day

I'm still on here answering my PMs about returning to Gearbest and hoping to see a new ROM for the people who paid good money for their device and are sticking with it.  
I've PM'd UMIadmin (owner of this thread) requesting an updated timeline.. i suggest you all do the same.. or better yet send your device back for a refund before Umidigi release a Z2 Pro Special Edition to fix the issues (with improved features, just as they did to the standard Z2 owners a few month after release)

If we send back to Gearbest am I right in thinking we need to cover postage?

Yes normally - i argued my case with them a little and they agreed to cover the cost as part of my refund. However, even if they hadn't I'd still have returned as they have a local return depot and the cost was minimal.. better that than having a unusable device lying around waiting for a non-existent update

Hello,

Don't know if it can help but I also had the issue with the invalid PIN.

I tried to recovery as Yan explained but I failed at step 3 of the procedure then the phone started and issue was solved for me.

Maybe if some can reproduce ?

I need not to lose my data sticked into the phone !

There are many reviewing sites available, they reviewing Umidigi Z2 Pro, but not all problem described there. I was planning to buy this phone from their review, but after reaching this forum, I have made confusion in my mind!!!!!!!

Hi Guys.
There is very simple solution and I found this in firs few minutes after receiving device.
During installation please do not set any security, then please pass all steps and finish installation, go to settings - security - fingerprint - press yes - choose which security you want to use - press NO (this option removing android security during start up and you no need this because phone still ask for your own security during rebooting which is working correctly) - type in your password /pin etc - choose notifications option - and add fingerprint.
All this is solving android security during booting.

Now turn off the phone and turn it on again. It will give you the error again. I have tried this and eventually it fails again.
