I'm pretty sure they will come up to a brand new reason, hopefully even better than previous one. Maybe something like "Well, developpers just told me that due to the form factor of umi plus E, SDK provided by MTK will not fit inside. We are doing our best, trust me"

Please let me ask back. Do you know an other smaprtphone on earth, that's built with Helio P20 SoC and was released in 2016 and was really available for purchase in 2016 like the UMi Plus E? All the examples you (generally the complaining users here) are used to mention was released much later, mostly in March or April of this year and are based on later, different variants of the Helio P20 processor.
You can see that, all other higher specs UMI(DIGI) phones, Super, MAX, Plus, Z and Z Pro have received their Nougat upgrades. Do you really think that, the lack of that upgrade for Plus E is the result of lazyness or some kind of evil and harmful attitude? Why? How could you think that with clear mind? Even from the aspect of business, the Plus E is a much more popular and also newer model then the MAX. Despite the lower rate of sale, MAX has received that upgrade because that was possible. Obviously, a Nougat upgrade could further increase the sales of UMi Plus E. You can think that, it's an evil company (sounds ridiculous) but do you really think that, they are so stupid as well, they don't want to sell more handsets?

Thanks Ben for the detail. And please don't take some of the comments too personally - we're just a bunch of users who would like to have their phones up-to-date (OS wise). I'm sure umidigi is aware of that but it sometimes feels like something more could be done from the company towards its partner/provider to keep up. Android 7/N is now 10 month-old and I guess we're already wondering about Android 8/O. In the end, that's one of the differentiating and attracting factor among so many Android phone providers: their capacity to produce good quality equipment and maintain them up to date in a fast paced environment.

Up to date Oswise, yeah, but security wise would be even better.
Guys, security patch is from January ! thousands of high level security issues have been corrected since !
