I can ask them next time on Monday but (unfortunately) some answers are predictable.
- No schedule for the next (1.7) update. The developers are working on it but they don't know the finish date yet. Some weeks, not months, of course.
- Full layer of camera2 api is implemented in Nexus 5 nad 6 only, limited layer in SGS6 and all other phones have just a so-called 'legacy' layer or the solution developed by the SoC manufacturers. The Iron still offers more manual features by MediaTek's camera api than those ones (almost nothing) described by google camera2 api legacy layer. So in fact, you can be sure, the full camera2 layer will never be implemented in the Iron's firmware.
- Custom ROMs: I must request info about this.
- Marshmallow will never be officially released for Iron but I think, that's not a big loss except if you always want the latest releases at all costs, regardless of its importance. |
