Yes, like you, I would believe it when I'll see it. But I still think we can trust them .

I had several regular contacts with them regarding this problem and they often answered quickly to my questions.

@phoztek and @off41, I have opened my UMI MAX and I can tell you two things:
1) it seems identical to the UMI SUPER as I could follow the instructions in the video and all the screws and components where the same as in the video
2) my screen is U1B YQ193 V1

So, it seems that you received the UMI MAX screen as a replacement

On a sidenote: there's a metalplate inside the back cover, more or less in the middle of it. I guess that the MAX can also benefit of the SUPER's car holder I tested it against a magnet and, as you can imagine, it sticks to it even through the cover. Good news.

Just picked up the UMI from screen replacement joint. Bought one on aliexpress, replacement done locally - total of $70. Roughly a third of a phone's initial cost. We'll see if it was worth it.

@gourmet: what is the part number of the screen replacement that you received, if I can ask? is it U1 YQ193 V1 or U1B YQ193 V1? I'm trying to decide if I want to take the risk to order a replacement screen of the SUPER for my broken MAX screen or wait for the "official" MAX replacement screen to appear either on Aliexpress or UMI Spain....

Any more news about this ?

The shop were I bought mine just told me to send it back and they will send me a new one.
But I was wondering if the ROM update is out already as I don't want to wait another 30 or more days to havev the phone working.
