UMI Super Screen replacement --> Touch KO

Hello, I am a newbie here as well. I have a UMI MAX and broke my screen last week. I am wondering how much did you pay your replacement screen? I contacted umi and umispain but haven't heard back from either one. Can you send me the instructions that you received to open your UMI SUPER? As the MAX seems to be mechanically identical, probably I can open it following the same instructions and I can check what's written on my screen so that we will all know if you received an UMI MAX screen as a replacement for your UMI SUPER.

We believe the screen/digitizer replacement is the same as the UMI MAX as the specs and the aspect of the phone is the same. However we are unsure if this is correct.

I bought my replacement for 57€ from AliExpress.

But we haven't been able to get the touchscreen to work properly.

Yes it is the best disassemble video.

From umispain, when i bought the screen, the price was about 54€ shipment included.

Now, the price is about 50€, and you must add shipment princing from china warehouse

Actually, there is no spare parts for UMI MAX on umispain site.

It seems to be difficult to find spare parts for UMI MAX because it is a new phone, especially if spare parts are different from the Super UMI.

Hi, I have a UMI MAX and I flashed the super version of twrp to my phone and my touch screen stopped working properly, actually itbehaves similar to yours, I believe that the problem is the same, the touch screen calibration data is missing for this touch screen.

Thank you phoztec and off41 for the info. I have contacted UMI Spain's support and they replied that the UMI MAX screen is not available yet. I will try to disassemble my UMI MAX in the next days and see what's written on the screen. I will let you all know what I find... my phone is unusable anyway as only the rightmost part of the screen responds to touches which makes it impossible to use it.
Looking at the specs, it seems that the MAX and the Super are pretty much the same device, with only a few differences.... Let's see if it's really like that. I will post here the results.

@phoztec and @off41, did you receive the replacement screen with the metal casing, or did you have to take it off your metal casing to replace it? in the video, the guy never got to actually take the screen off the casing.... Thanks!

yes it's possible. So, it means that calibration datas are missing directly in the last ROM they produce.

If it's really that, it is not very professional I think ... but that's only a personal opinion ( and )...

PS: I work in IT, and if developments or settings are deployed into production without being tested, or that there are gaps, I can tell you that does not laugh

After reading your posts, I will throw mine in the bin as it is not worth fixing......
a replacment screen now is well over $100 aussie ans some are over $200!!!!!!!!
easier to buy a new phone! maybe a better one with the GPS etc working!!!
