Edited by LivingtheDream at 2017-12-8 17:00 \n\nMy story:
Barely before one-year guarantee expired from my UMI 'super', one day, when I removed the phone from the charger, it suddenly went black (and shut down).
Absolutely no effect for any key combinations, charging, etc. Because I had only a few weeks left from guarantee, I decided not to send back the phone to China (from Europe), other reason was, I had some personal materials were in it's memory... In the repair facility, when it was disassembled, I was told, that the charging cable went faulty, it caused short circuit, made the battery charging control IC to burn out, also roasted the fingerprint sensor's hardware. The burnt out IC prevented the phone to switch on, but after replaced (~25 dollar), the phone worked again fine - however, I was advised to leave the died fingerprint, it won't worth to buy new part, since it is around 100 bucks. So if you don't have valid guarantee anymore (but you don't want to change phone ) or you don't want to wait for months arguing with sellers, whether to have a new one or get refund, you might try this way. So far my "refurbished" phone is alright.
