Help!  I can't post a new thread for some reason...
Issue with Resetting Z2 Pro to Factory settings due to Android 8 pin/pattern not being recognized.
I only have 5 options and none are Clear EMMC.
1. Auto Test
2. Test Report
3. GPS (something)
4. Version Information
5. Restart Phone.

Anyone know how to get to the EMMC option?

I received my Z2 Pro. Camera is okay, but not really "good". OS is nice and very, very fast. In my opinion faster than Stock Android on SD 660. The device looks and feels high-end. Google Pay doesn't work and Pin Code changes itself after every reboot. Umidigi knows the Bug but still delivers phones with it.

I solved my particular issue with Android Device Manager through Google (the same site you use to locate your phone), but it's still VERY concerning that I can't do a factory reset unless I'm in Android.  For now, I won't be using a pin or pattern to lock my device.

The Z2 Pro looks really nice. Physically the same size as the Z Pro, though the screen is larger. The restore from the previous phone works nicely and the UI is snappy and fast. You can get more icons on the display compared to the previous phones, although the quick access task bar just above the bottom of the screen holds 1 icon less, which is odd.

Everything was great until I powered the phone off and then discovered the "Wrong PIN" problem that prevents you from logging in again. That's how I ended up here.

I was able to hard reset the phone, although it is very hard as there seems to be some sort of timing involved. But holding down Volume Up and the Power button eventually gets there. 9 times out of 10 you end up at the factory reset menu in Chinese that Kraken has helpfully translated above. Though it was quite easy to figure out what the choices were and the last entry on the list reboots the phone.
EDIT: bencebacsi has posted the exact sequence to reboot the phone as the second post in the "Phone has shipped" thread. However, this is not a fix.

Eventually (it takes me getting on for half an hour of trying and retrying), I can the timing right and get through to the green android menu where it says "No Command" and then you hold down the power button while pressing and releasing the volume up to get to the English menus that allow a full factory reset.

So it looks like you either set a PIN and NEVER turn the phone off, or you cannot set a PIN. This is very worrying given all the banking and payment apps that I have installed and the Z and Z Pro never had this problem. I would go so far as to say that the phone is not usable in this form.

I have the 20180823 software installed on here (which OTA reports as the most recent). It looks like it isn't worth flashing the 20180830 as this appears to still have the same issue.

Please fix this Umidigi as having bought the new phone it would be really nice if I could use it.

Same problem with the PIN reset. The solution is to restore phone via google device manager. But it will be 3rd time in two days! And mobile keeps restarting itself! It's not acceptable! Fix this ASAP!

I received my Z2 Pro yesterday - physically a great looking phone.. the software however has major issues;
- Fingerprint security (and a secondary check e.g pin) upon reboot, the pin is not recognised. I've wiped the phone several times and have tried various options but have yet to find a way around this apart from not configuring any security.
- The camera has multiple problems - Too dark then too bright and won't focus. App locks up and camara won't connect ( see attached pics of errors following a forced wipe with account or apps installed)
If you use the UI Tuner, selecting any config options for the buttons causes the device to lock, reboot and bring up an error message stating the data is corrupt. Only another wipe can fix this
- Wireless charging works once, then if the phone is picked up and put down it doesn't restart unless the charger is powered off and on. I've tested 2 wireless chargers ( both Umidigi) and both give the same result
Can we get an ETA on the reboot password lockout issue please as this has been reported by several people on this thread so is clearly a common problem.
Edit - I've updated to the current ROM, tested with and without SIMs (in both slots) on reboot and when wiped.  i've no SIM pin setup, this is simply my the pattern or PIN setup during the initial phone setup.
Edit 2 - Issue 3 only occurred on the V1.0_20180830 update for me

Edit 3 - due to the quality of the responses from Umidigi on here (clearly not actually reading or acknowledging the issues we're experiencing from our so called "flagship" phone, i've contacted Gearbest to inform them that the item is not fit for sale, backed up by a link to this forum as well as pictures and videos of the issues. I suggest you all do the same as from the looks of the ongoing issues with the standard Z2 on this forum, we'll be waiting a long time for any kind of fix

Good luck to anyone who decides to keep their Z2 Pro, mines going back

I'm having the same issue:

I let the phone go out of battery to have a clean charge from zero.

When starting the phone again I'm prompted with a screen that says: To start Android, enter your PIN.

I do and it goes to the next screen, Android starts.

Then the fingerprint unlocker doesn't work and I get a locked screen that says: "PIN required after device restarts", but as you may imagine by now, the PIN doesn't work.

Pretty frustrating.

MarcinP - i appreciate that faults need time to fix and i'm sure most us would be happy to wait if the issues were minor. The issue here is that it should never have shipped out in its current condition. Umidigi can't expect people to buy one of their devices and then wait weeks or months until its actually usable. If it doesn't work, don't release it.... or at least have an OTA fix ready so that they're not expecting people to flash their phones

It's put me off ever buying another of their devices, thats for sure
