Hi,

I'm reporting all such issues and even more (for example the contacts app cannot access googl ...

Thanks !
I also have sync problem with Google hangout, Twitter, Gmail and other app. I am using Outlook instead of Gmail because the sync with Outlook works well ang I get emails (even gmails one) instantly.

I had a problem with Google Contacts Sync. The Option from Account/Google/Contact Sync just disappeared. I had to install the apk manually again.
This system should not be released yet for the new phones

Solution for missing Google contacts sync:
1. Go to Settings --> Permission Management
2. Choose App startup management
3. Tap the 3-dot button in the top right corner, select 'System auto startup app(s)', then Confirm
4. Scroll down to 'Google Contacts Sync' and make it enabled.
Now you can sync your Google contacts and can use them in the Contacts app.
You may enable all other google services or anything you want.

Thanks. This solution works also for all the apps that are not sync (gmail, twitter, hangout etc...). I can now use the phone properly.
Nevertheless this is a shame that those apps are shutdown by default when the screen is off.

There is too much apps already installed in UMI OS (Power master, Quick Touchb Avatar Master etc....). What is even worth is that there is advertisments in some apps like Powermaster and also got a pop up for installing a game from another UMI app.

The launcher is really inefficient.

Please come back to a simpler version closest to the pure android.

I've been using this phone for a while now and here's my opinion. The device is good. It has lots of RAM and storage capacity and the CPU is very fast. Wifi range is poor, but if we're in the range we'll have no troubles. Camera is nice. It's not great, but it's the first time that I have a decent camera on a phone. So, at this point, I would definitely recommend the phone to a friend.

But then comes UMI OS and that's a whole different story. It has bugs (for instance, Captive Portal keeps crashing), it has compatibility issues (for instance, I can't get AIDA 64 working). It has lots of bloatware that we can't even disable. We have to configure the OS in order to get basic apps working (contacts, email, calendar). We can't change the default launcher, so good luck on customizing the looks of the phone. And last, but not least, we can't root it, so we have to stick with it. I hope I'm wrong, but at this point, I'm convinced that, if Umidigi doesn't change anything, there will be no root available in the future.

So, what could be a very good phone for the money has its image seriously damaged because of the ROM installed. I'll wait for a while and see if Umidigi's developers come to their senses and release a decent ROM (ideally, a stock Android 8.0 ROM). Otherwise, I'll probably end up losing my patience (and my money) and move on to another brand.

Let's have hope. TWRP, root and a custom build.prop that allows users to change the default launcher, available for C Note 2 on Needrom.

It seems to be a ... how to say... ''fake offer''. UMI OS devices have Efuse write protected firmware partitions (so the system, cache and userdata partitions are not protected), you cannot flash anything but the stock firmware partitions. Moreover, after decompiling that recovery.img I see it's based on an Android 7.1.2 ROM with a date of 170715, what is non-existent for UMIDIGI C Note 2. As an addition, on this page talking about flashing TWRP on the C Note there's a ROM made for Z1 Pro linked as a C Note 2 stock ROM.
