One more "feature" of this ROM (at least the OTA version...), is that it's signed with release keys! That should address the problem of "secure" apps like banking apps refusing to run.
On the downside, it seems like you're not root anymore, when using adb shell from a computer...

Nougat has really made things a bit different from what we are used to on Marshmallow. I spent 3 hours to be able to obtain systemless root with magik 10.2 (I want to be able to toggle root on and off for my banking app.)

Yes, not only a s ...

On Marshmallow gps works and after ota update it don't work also it is not a Hardware issue...



It find all Satellite but no fix

All the firmwares after 20160923 make my fingerprint literally crazy. I don't know why.

I used these steps for flashing Nougat:
1. Downgrade from 20161121 to 20160923 for try the fingerprint sensor (who was works perfect);
2. "Format All + Download" with Flash Tool, Wipe Data from recovery and factory reset from "Settings".
3. The fingerprint after the upgrade still not works. (lol)

For the rest the phone works perfect but the battery drain is exessive.

AFTER ENCOUNTERING ISSUES WITH DISABLING THE SAFTEYNET CHECK DO NOT USE THIS METHOD. YOU WILL GET ROOT THAT WORKS JUST FINE BUT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PASS NON ROOT FOR SECURITY APPS WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT WITH SYSTEMLESS ROOT. NOUGAT KICKED ME IN THE THEET WHEN I THOUGHT I FINALLY SOLVED IT. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.   








Guide how to install and obtain systemless root Nougat 7.0 for Umi Super.

Hi Mats,

Before you start make sure that you have TWRP custom recovery installed on your device and that you don't have any other root methods installed since that would cause some big problems.


So unrooted device and TWRP recovery is a must. (Make sure you make a Nandroid backup in case something goes wrong, here we go:


Download these two files and put them on your SD card;

►►Phh's Root For Nougat 7 ( You will later Flash this in TWRP) https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3988488&d=1483407725

►►Latest Magisk 10.2 (You will later Flash this in TWRP) http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk

After these 2 files been downloaded and saved on your SD card you can now boot into TWRP for the flashing process.

Start by flashing Magisk 10.2. After it flashed just hit back so you come back to the TWRP menue and now flash the phh-superuser-topjohnwu-r2.zip. reboot your device (no wipe needed)

Now let your phone boot up and when you back inside again hit the playstore and download and install in the following order (Very important):


►►Phh superuser APK: https://play.google.com/store/ap ... .superuser&hl=en_GB

►► Magisk Manager APK: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.topjohnwu.magisk&hl=en

►► Busybox APK: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox&hl=en


After the installation of the APK's now open the Phh superuser apk and just leave it running in the background (Dont kill the app)


Open Magisk manager, if everything has gone as expected to this point you should get a root promt from Phh superuser, make sure you allow it.


The first time you boot Magisk manager the apk will look for an update for quite some time, before showing that everything is running like it should in the main menu (Look at attached SS)


That's it, you now have systemless root and will be able to use banking apps, log in to Snapchat if you got logged out and play Pokymon go (If that's your cup of tea, i never really understood the fascination of this game, LOL)


Anyhow hope you or someone else find this useful.

I have the exact same thing. Fingerprint went total nuts after the 20160923 release. Even after countless calibration attempts on previous versions (as there is no calibration option on the current ROM) the fingerprint sensor registers activity while it is not touched by anything. Right now the only way to not drain the phone battery is removing all my fingerprint data such that it does not work at all.

What changed after the 20160923 update and why? Fingerprint was working perfect before then.

Is there maybe a way to change the sensor sensitivity or a treshold in the EngineerMode? (dial *#*#3646633#*#*)

I still have an early Super from last June but the fingerprint scanner always worked perfectly with every ROM version.
Try to process the followings.
1. Format the whole flash chip except the bootloader.
2. Flash only the preloader of the Android 7.0 ROM
3. Flash the whole ROM with Firmware Upgrade.

If that still doesn't help, the next step I'd do is to disconnect the fingerprint sensor, boot up the phone without it, then power off, reconnect the sensor and boot up again. Of course, it needs to disassemble your phone.
