On my phone I see v1.6. May be you did anything wrong. And everything is best, except of camera flash.

Here is my procedure step by step:
- I placed the file you have linked on the SD card.
- Renamed it to ota-update.zip
- Go to the settings -> system update then tap on the start update button.
- The phone reboots and an animated green android robot appears with the "System update in progress" (or something similar) text.
- Phone reboots again.

The system remains untouched, just like it was before. The only thing is changed that the updater have deleted the ota-update.zip

Have you updated with this method or with Rootjoy?

Hi guys,

How did you manage to see the UMI Iron ROMs in the RootJoy app. I have downloaded it from MediaFire using their link, but its an old version from March - ROOTJOY_1.0.0.13469.

Once I install it and connect my phone and try to Flash it shows updates only for the UMI Zero and not for my Iron.

Did anyone else had these problems?

I've downloaded the same version, but on the first run, Rootjoy offered to update itself from the internet.
So I have the most recent version.

Updated to v1.6 using rootjoy successfully thank you all.

However USB is still slow as hell.

Waiting for v1.7 Umi.

Hello.
Finally i updated my iron to 1.6 version, through TWRP.

I want to list all the defects found, in english and then in italian, on a smartphone website.

- Bad audio quality during call and not (improved with 1.6 version but nothing excellent)
- IRon crashs when i insert audio jack to listen to music
- Stress sensor is not accurate
- Camera is ORRIBLE (15mp,18mp or 1mp?) - A lot of unnecessary features   
- Battery cell quality?
- Where is 4G LTE???   my phone only recognize 3G.     
- Block initial  screen can be improved (the screen when you have to unblock sim)
- Audio quality can be improved (sometimes it shows some troubles)
- USB cable???      slower than a turtle. In 2015, with usb 3.0 it's incredbile buy a smartphone with there specs.
- charger overheats too early
- Screen go in "standby mode" when you make calls
- Sometimes, pressing buttons (writing text, playing) activates VIBRATION, even if it is turned off
- Address book can be improved - now is not easily navigate on it
- sometimes vocal search in address book start automatically  (rare, 1-2 times after 2 months)
- SMS:   message list:  It happens to see the recipient's name and the description below: unknown artist..... lol    (after reboot it always returns ok)
- 3G (sim band quality) is not best...


i'm waiting for 1.7 rom version, but i can confirm that UMI IRON is a SECOND RATE SMARTPHONE.

The only positive thing in this smartphone is the CPU,GPU and RAM speed.

i'm really disappointed.

Now, no money back, no full working phone.
