Hi everyone,
I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same thing - random screen presses. Recently, I've been having this trouble with my Umi Plus E that keeps pressing random areas on the screen which is very annoying when navigating my phone. I have not dropped this phone, not even once. It's well protected and updated yet I don't understand why this is happening. It's hard to chat with other people because it keeps pressing random letters multiple times.

Not sure if this is a build issue because I've only had it for around 3 months and it's already acting up. If anyone has a fix, please let me know.

So, after I clean my screen, should I get a screen protector so that this will not happen?

Is always worth to try with screen protector.
But also you can flash your phone with SPFT.
Here is SPFT instruction

And here all available ROMs

Wipe and upload whole clean firmware without errors /bugs.
You need read seller warranty roles as ...

What happens to all my files? Should I create a back up first?

PS. This is driving me insane. Just this morning, it almost cost me money while it was pressing random things while opening google playstore. It has already deleted a few of my important notes and cleaning with a microfiber cloth is not working its still randomly pressing.

To be honest, this will be the last phone im getting from Umi and I will highly recommend to me friends and family NEVER to buy any UMI phones as they are too hassle and their facebook page is useless as a support.

I had that problem but i realized that it is because the screen is super sensitive and if your screen is dirty or you have a screen protector with dust under it it will press by itself... simply wipe your phone screen with microfiber cloth and if that does not work and you have a screen protector.. remove it. that would work.

Havent had this problem since.. Oh and also you should check for system updates in settings I think that might have helped too!

Sorry, but no. Maybe I am the luckiest user of this phone as I have none bugs phone. Using the latest ROM V3.02_20170216 (Android 6.0.1) without any bugs. Try to re-flash your phone using SP Flash Tool http://community.umidigi.com/thread-6763-1-1.html

I do not why you have this problem, but updates are not a solution for a better phone. Your problem could be an app making trouble

I don't think it's an app related issue as it even randomly presses on the lock screen, home screen or on any app really.

Here  ...

I'm not an advance android user so what does "flash" do to my phone exactly?
I don't want to void my warranty.
