Received OTA update for Umidigi Power V1.5_20190826.  ( NON-EU version )
The new firmware : From what I have found
1. Update Android security Patch from May of 2019 to June of 2019.  ( yes, it is almost Sept. 2019 )
2. New Firmware Removed "Check Android update" option at System page of SETTINGS menu.
3. Video Capture still no Auto Focus
4. Fingerprint sensor appears little better in recognition, but same slow response.
5. Additional Icon appear for <Wireless Emergency alters>

Negative Impact: Phone experience EXTREMELY slow/ delay in app launching.  
Repro step:
1. Update your phone to V1.5_20190826.  ( NON-EU version )
2. Shut down the phone.
3. Press and hold <Volume up> and <Power Button> to enter Recovery Mode
4. Select Clear Cache Partition.  -  ( this procedure to is ensure no conflict from previous cache )
5. Reboot the phone.
6. Launch any Apps.  ( ex. Gmail )
7. Press <Menu> Virtual Key of your phone, to bring up menu.
8. Select <Clear All>  - ( this basically make sure your app is closed )
9. Launch same App as Step 6.
10. Observe perf issue.  ( may took up to 5 seconds before initial display )


Please triage the perf issue when app been cleared from the menu.


Positive Modification:
To be fair, the battery appears to last NOTICEABLE longer.
Average usage for me will be around 50% by end of Dinner.
New update usage is around 40% by end of Dinner

Unaware of what's the actual changes in new firmware.
"Slow response / app launching" can be cure via FACTORY RESET.

1. Delete all account within your Android phone.
2. Make sure all security feature has been disable.
3. Turn the phone off.
4. Press and hold <Up volume> and <power button> to launch into RECOVERY MODE
5. Select "wipe data / factory reset"
6. Invoke "power off"
7. Start OOBE

Lucky you. The F1 Play is still on security patch from Januar 2019. Despite one update in May, and two in July.

I would think lack of " security update" is the reason people neglect to purchase higher price model from Umidigi.   I do so much want to buy the Umidigi X for my family, but after careful evaluation, we went with cheaper, lower spec, Samsung A20.     Why? just a piece of mind.

I just received a message stating 'Wireless Update" New version. There is no version number shown but the release date is 30/082019
Should i accept this or ignore?

They have 2 branch of firmware for Umidigi Power.
EU and Non-EU.

For Non-Europe version, I really suggest NOT to take the update unless you prepared to perform OOBE.
Current Non-Europe version is : v1.5_20190826_20190826-1656
Android Security patch: June 5, 2019
Kernel version: 4.9.117
I have not received any update notice or any update dated for 08/30

I just checked with mine (EU version). It says I'm still up-to-date with my version from July, 26th. Let's see if that changes soon.

I bought mine of Amazon in the UK (official, a couple of weeks ago).  I will check when that message comes up again what other information it gives me. My phone is working fine, so don't really want to mess anything up.

Go to "Settings" --> "System" --> "Advanced" --> "About phone" --> "System update"

There you see the current version and if there's an update available.
