My UMI SUPER (bought August 2016 Gearbest) phone has swollen and cracked the screen.
I will leave phone on to discharge the battery. I think the battery is the problem, but it has broken the phone.

Battery didn't explode on any umi phone. There was few reports about battery expansion but in this situation user should stop using phone and contact seller immediately. Also should dissemble phone to prevent further damage into other parts.
Batteries are very cheap and fully available for umi plus so was no point waiting for further damage and then complaining.

Guys, STOP using original fast charger and don´t update to Nougat.
I think that the original charger is the source of all these problems (battery swell and lcd cracks).
While in fast charge the battery reaches high temperatures (around 50º celsius) and if you are using it during charge, it may reach higher temperatures.

If you fast charge your phone every 2 days, you can imagine whats going to happen in a couple of months....
You should rather charge your phone with regular charger.

Umi super charging temperature is limited to 45 C above this temperature charging current and voltage will be limited. Also this temperature can't be rich without using phone under charging!!!!!
If your battery temperature is higher this is indicating that you are using very hardly under charging!
I using android 7 and can't confirm this issues.

The white cloud in the center is indicative that the battery is already under pressure against the lcd.
If you´re still under warranty, this is the time to use it, if not ... time to charge it as slowly as you can in order to delay the obvious outcome or...
time to order new battery and replace it or ask someone to replace it for you.

This chart isn´t mine, mine has indicated about 47º celsius http://community.umidigi.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5765&page=19#pid61643
The program I used is Gsam battery monitor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
... you can try it for yourself,,,
That chart was posted by Administrator bencebacsi http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5765-20-1.html , and he says "this heat dissipation is pretty normal while fast charging".
