Dear users,

According to user feedback, some UMi Plus owners haven’t received the Android 7.0 FOTA upgrade until now.

Here we'd like to clear your question why you haven’t received the FOTA.

  • Since we are the very first Chinese smartphone maker who did this FOTA directcly from Android 6.0 to Android 7.0 to overseas market, we tend to rollout slower than before in order to give it a more stable installation environment and to make it safely installed. We monitor every feedback from our users after successful installations and by far more than 1000 users have made it done without any issue. So we're going to rollout to another thousands of users this week and in the coming weeks. At the moment, we are not going to do a broader rollout in order to have all the unknown risks under control.
  • Android 7.0 is a heavy ROM due the direct FOTA from Android 6.0 to Android 7.0, which decreases the transfer speed over the air from China out to the world, that is out of our earlier expectation. Overall, as mentioned above, we will not take any risk that might damage your phone, We sincerely appreciate your patient waiting.

In the meantime, if you eagerly want to get a touch on Android 7.0 on your UMi Plus and haven’t received FOTA yet, you can now install the first final version with SP Flash tool.

How to downgrade back to Android 6.0? Wifi is unstable, dialer is slow, some sensors are inacurate ( ...

Not a single word is true in your report if you speak generally. Of cours, I cannot check your own device. Did you receive the FOTA upgrade or you flashed your phone with SPFT? If you did the latter one, flash your phone again with the 'Firmware Upgrade' option. You can go back properly to Android 6.0 only by flashing with 'Format All + Download' but in that case you might need to reflash your IMEI numbers with the SN Writer Tool.

Thank you. It would be great if you could also fix the NTP server location (if that's really the problem) so that it would not be necessary to root to use the FasterGPS app.

Edited by DeepAnger at 2016-12-21 18:27 \n\nI have almost no problem since I upgraded but I may not be the average user because I don't use google services and I have them all disabled.
The GPS is far from being good but it works if you fix it, only it appears Glonass does not work. More details in this thread  http://community.umidigi.com/for ... 4971&fromuid=257807
I had to root the phone because I like to play with them and because it was the only way to make the GPS work. I wish UMI wil tell us if the missing Glonass can be fixed in the software or if it is a hardware problem.

The missing Glonass support is a known issue and it will be fixed in the next update.
