Edited by Claudiulro at 2016-12-18 03:05 \n\nHello all,

I have a brand new Umi plus since 4 days. I discovered two things that pisses me off:

1. Maybe it`s normal but for me it`s new this thing: When charging , the battery is reaching 42 degrees Celsius and also the charger is heating up also.
2. The most annoying thing is that the phone it`s blocking sometimes when i unlock it.  When i use the fingerprint the phone it`s unlocking but i cannot enter in the menu or doing anything else. I have to block it and unlock it again and for the secound time it works. It doens`t have a regular time when does this thing. Maybe it does after 1 hour, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after half hour.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Claudiu

Edited by MarcinP at 2016-12-18 05:06 \n\nHi
There is nothing unusually whit your phone and charger to getting hot due to charging as this phone support quick charge and 4000 mAh battery could be charged up to 2H. If you use slow charger any 5V and 1A then temperature will not excess 30 °C but will take up to 4H.
If I correctly understand your unlocking issue please go to settings - backup & reset - factory data reset. You will loose all data from phone and phone come back to factory settings .
I presume that in your phone firmware could be some error/bug and this should help.
If don't help please use SPFT and rewrite firmware again. I checked and we don't have your firmware files yet.
So try new Android 7.0 from this link http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5751-1-1.html

42° C is normal for fast charging, i have my Umi Super for around four months and it also heats up while charging and it works great and the battery lasts me 2 days without charging.

But 42°C is only in battery and in top right quarter of phone but whole phone is cold (room temperature).

Don't worry about it mate, charging control circuit and battery itself heats up.

Cause fast charging is pushing higher voltage into battery more than what battery likes, this is how it works, and some energy is lost along this process, energy lost is heat.

If you don't like it get a 5V 1A charger and it wont heat up, also battery will last longer without fast charging, but everyone nowadays is in a hurry so we all want fast charging and treat battery impolitely so it gets angry and heats up.

As i mentioned in other posts this overheating pisses me off sometimes. I have bluboo Maya Max which has 4200mah battery, less processer version and fast charges in 2hrs but never heatsup so why cant UmiPlus do the same is my question?

That Bluboo is a bigger one (larger surface for heat dissipation), has an underclocked processor, that dissipates much less heat. Also the temp control chip may have a different position, so the two phones are not obviously comparable from this aspect.

Which means they have got better design, better processor and temp control chip in better position than UmiPlus
