Hi guys, I recently got my Iron. So far I enjoyed it much, but there's one thing that bothers me. I wanted to use Manual Camera from the market. So I've downloaded it and it gives me info that the manufacturer of the phone didn't implement lolipop camera2 api correctly and so most of the features doesn't work . Manual focus controls was the main reason for me to buy new phone with lolipop. So I beg you UMI devs... please implement this API correctly. That would make my IRON a perfect smartphone.

I've asked this several times on Umi Facebook, Umi Facebook group and here, but I haven't got answer so far.

I think camera2 API will never be implemented properly. Maybe that is why they don't answer to my camera2 questions. (Seems like this is how Umi handle the negative answers, they pretend that there was no question. They haven't answered my question about sensors. Now I know the answer, but a user did the test for me, I haven't got official answer.)

Hi Rhen,

I'm pretty sure I've answered the question about the sensors a few times, particularly in this thread (http://community.umidigi.com/thread-416-1-1.html) which you were a part of. I also don't really agree with your point about UMI pretending there hasn't been any questions asked. They have released 2 updated ROMs for the Iron already, which addressed user concerns and are working on further updates as we speak. This is strange behaviour for a company that apparently ignores it's users.

I've been asking about the camera2 api but haven't heard back yet. Sometimes it takes a few times as I'm usually asking when they are usually asleep! But, in many of these situations, please have some patience. A resolution is rarely found in a couple of days.

I hope this helps,
Gruffles

Hi Rhen,

I'm pretty sure I've answered the question about the sensors a few times, particularly i ...

You are right, you have answered the sensor question, but it takes 2 weeks since I started to ask on many different channels (and get different information from "non official" channels). The other thing is that the "official" answer. Or you as a moderator represent Umi? I can accept the answers as "official" when you write that Umi answered the question for you. (Don't take this personal. This is not intended to be personal, I'm just curious. I'm sure you do your best. ;) )

Also the camera2 api haven't answered yet. (maybe i haven't asked it directly enough here.) Thanks for the camera2 API question Gruffles.

I know that Umi released many updates since the start with a lots of fixes. This is a good point and I appreciate this. I don't say that Umi is bad, but their communication should improve. I was part of other projects where the project "leader" have tried to avoid hard questions and my experience is that leave people in the community in doubt is much worse than a negative answer.

I hope my Iron will be fine and will use it with joy. (it is already in my country so maybe I can get it in this week. )
