UMI PLUS Screen/Display issues

Hi all,
UMI plus i bought has a problem. In the beginning it worked fine for three days.
Then suddenly the display won't lightup anymore. After many restarts, it started working again.
But after half an hour it happened again.

I have also narrowed down the problem that why is it happening.
Turns out, its happening when the device is cold. The temperature where i live is around 18-20 'C.
So when i leave the device for few minutes on the desk, it stop working and display won't lightup.
But when i warm it up (keeping it in my hands or in my pocket for few minutes) it starts working again.

I bought UMI plus from one of the aliexpress stores listed on UMI website. I received the phone, as it was an import i had to pay customs duties, taxes and get No Objection Certificate from authorities. I am telling you this because i went through a lot of trouble to get this phone, i had confidence that UMI is the new upcoming company with budget phones just like oneplus.
I am so disappointed with this product, i was planning to buy UMI PLUS E but now, with my experience with this product, i will not.

Yes, i have restarted the device many times.
Yes, i have completely reset the device and restored it to factory default rom.
Yes, i am on latest build (UMI Plus v3.01_20161019)
Yes, i can send it back in the warranty to China
But problem is that i have paid 70$ in customs duties & taxes and i will not get that money back. Also, if they send me a replacement i have to pay customs duties & taxes for that phone too.


If its a software issue and its not hardware related, then please release a patch to fix this temperature problem.




I hope people who plan to buy this phone read this before they purchase this product.

I've had the same (similar?) problem with my screen. Mine got weird after I was watching a youtube video for some time (>30). Maybe it's also related to heating.

i use mine as secondary phone and Note 3 as my primary phone. So as you can imagine because of this inactivity device gets cold, and everytime i want to use it i have to warm it up first.
Just like adapting a baby if you ask me, needs lots of warmth and cuddling.

I have a similar problem with the screen. Also requires constant maintenance of the temperature is above 25 ° C. How to solve a problem?

I couldn't find any solution, lets hope Android N update will fix it (if its a software issue to begin with)

I measure the temperature accurately. Screen stopped working at 19 C. The beta version of the Android N is not helped

i do have problem with my UMI Plus, i just received my phone 2 weeks ago i tried it on the succeeding days at first i watch on Youtube after
a couple of videos the phone hang, i tried to restart the phone using the power button but it wont work then after a minuet or two the phone self restart, then the next day i plug phone to charge it, again it went-off totally black out then try restart the phone using the power button it dint work then after a minuet or two it self reboot,  after that the screen of my UMI Plus shows white lines irritating lines.. im so disappointed i tried to contact the supplier but they cant give me solution with this issue.

The screen on my phone was originally a milky white. I thought that the screen broken. But when I took apart, remove the battery and the power train of the screen, and then reconnect, the screen earned.
