Because of this!!!

http://community.umidigi.com/thread-4941-1-1.html
(Umi Plus and GPS Signal)

I using this phone for 4 weeks now and man .... I really love this phone ... but with this above mentioned "bug/wrong design/whatever", it's just not usable. So many apps today rely on gps data and this phone has an awfull and slow gps reception.

I love the feel of the phone (weight, finish, quality, look)
I love the display, clear, bright, very solid and really not prone to scratch
I love the huge battery and therefore long battery life (2 days with intesive usage is not a problem)
The price value is awesome ... wait ... would be awesome if the GPS would work.
NFC would have been nice, but that's not a deal breaker

The camera isn't the best, but that's a thing I rather can live with, then with a not proper working GPS.

Since UMI isn't going to address this issue, I'm done with them and you should too .... this is not acceptable. There were GPS Problems with the UMI Super already and as I have read with some other MTK devices as well. Don't know why it's not possible to address this issue and honestly it's a effrontery to release a phone with this kind of malfunction.

So now I need to sell this phone I really wanted to love soooo much .... :-(

The next problem is to find a equivalent phone in regards of touch/feel and battery life (mainly) ... and a working GPS of course.

I like the Oneplus 3. It almost looks like the UMI Plus, but it's twice the price and has only a 3000mah battery. I don't care about dash charge since I don't have my charger always around.

Maybe you guys have I tipp for a adequat replacement device. Preferably not from UMI ....

What do you guys think about the Xiaomi Redmi 4 as replacement device? Seems to have pretty much all ...

It is a good choice but it must be noted that it does not support B20 (800 MHz) 4G frequency!!!! I have not found it in the device specification.

Dear Chickin
I agree completely with your post.
It is so nice device....but the GPS is terrible and the Staff of Umi don't recognize the issue...

What do you guys think about the Xiaomi Redmi 4 as replacement device? Seems to have pretty much all the specs of the UMI Plus but with a snapdragon chipset and therefore hopefully no gps lock issues?

And what a price!!

No sweat!

There is in Hungary for countryside the service provider are using B20 (800 MHz) on LTE network. Therefore I have to hunt for phone with this capability.
