The original UMI Hammer S charger has failed.
I have a universal charger but the output is 5v 2.0A and I am concerned about it being too high because the original was only 1.0A
Will it do the battery or phone any damage?

Dear scorpion,

The electronics of your phone controls and limits the charging current regardless of the maximum output current of your charger device. So, you don't have to be worried about the higher current of your charger, your battery won't be overloaded.

Regards,
Bence

P.s.: Of course, that's highly recommended to use a good quality, stabilized voltage charger since an over voltage still can damage the electronics of your phone or its battery.

Many thanks Bence.
It is a good quality charger but I wanted to take advice before using it.
I've been using the laptop to charge the phone since the supplied mains unit failed.

Regards
