Phone turning off after screen replacement

I have broken screen on my UMI PLUS E, bought a new one and replaced it. Now, the phone turns off when I press it in the top left corner. It usually turns off a couple of times a day. Sometimes before it turns off, the display shows random changes or goes green or black.

Is this a problem of bad LCD or rather something with the motherboard? Is it worth buying a new screen?

You mentioned about screen broken so I suspecting incompatible driver for screen (software),  new screen failure or poor screen contact.
Firstly I would flash complete ROM with SPFT.

If you are sure the screen is the correct one, did you replace ALL the pieces of tape from the inside of the phone after assembly? The are used for insulation and without them the casing of the phone can flex and short the pins, I had this problem after replacing my screen and replacing tape fixed it.
