If we have not a normal users we have problems expanding them to improve the device. All people write the same things. I do not think we can agree. We ask engineers to check the code. It may happen that you write code that intrudes. Just be humble and check your work again. We are human. Needless to write and impossible. Or are you wrong? Because I think the various trials, like me, have done them. And the problems are on this device. Disappointed by UMI

In my case before and after upgrade :
- low volume during phone call, especially receiving with umi integrated blue cover,
- proximity sensor not working during and after call : pushing power button is needed evrry time to go off black screen

both are basic daily feature, very annoying.
Can you tell the engeneering mode process to fix the sound issue?

I noticed this too.

It did seem while trying to call my bank you have to press this and that to get to talk to some one, and after doing that using the dialer the screen did come alive when i removed phone from ear.
But just getting a call or making a call, then yes the screen are just black when i remove phone from ear, and it remain so until the other part hand up.

And yesterday i noticed pause music ( while waiting in line at my bank ) and the music faded to a level where i couldn't hardly hear it, and then a little later faded up again to normal.
And pause music are always the same high level, aside for then the voice come back to tell you are now number 3 in line.
But i never noticed this in actual phone calls, and sadly when my friend call he some times talk about nothing for far too long,,,,, and i really hate long phone calls.

Trying to get thru to a person yesterday i experienced several times where the call was cut short due to my call going to answer machine and i dont talk to or use those.

BUT ! when my calls was so short ( 10 - 15 seconds or so ) then the screen did light up when i removed the phone from the ear, but that do not happen for longer calls where the screen remain black after the call.

So the short calls indicate things do actually work as they are supposed to do, but adding more time and the problem pop up, so i am not sure if its the proximity sensor that in some way time out or forget it have started a job ( muting screen ) and then forget to finish job ( turn on screen ) then the call end.

This is system error which came during OTA update.
Please use SPFT and flash full system. You can uncheck cache and user data!!!!

Thanks but i dont dare to do such things, i can not afford to get new phone if i brick it, so just hope OTA update down the road will fix it.

I dont mind tearing into things and on average i am using .bin or .elf files every day for other things, but my phone that's not one of the things i mod or work on other than regular update.
I simply dislike phones too much for having that much interest in them, so just want it to work.

And it sort of do, i can live with this i think until it get a OTA fix, after all i only get or make 1 call every day on average just letting UMI know the little things i find.

Hi,

I have also been having numerous issues with my UMI Z after the upgrade to Nougat. The main issues I have are:

- When I disconnect from a Wifi network the mobile data stops working. Then if I switch on the 'airplane' mode I cannot go back to normal mode and the icon of the airplane starts blinking. So I have to restart the phone in the end to make the mobile data work...
- Some apps (like chrome and Facebook) sometimes hang when playing videos.
- When I make phone calls (or video calls) if I use the hands free mode the calls start getting lots of background noise and after a while it is so bad that I have to hang up and call again. This is a problem that I also had before the upgrade though.

Last time I buy an UMI. It is a real shame because the hardware seems to be quite good (apart from the camera) but the software is baaaad.

I did the factory restoration now and it did not work.

Camera still does not work

I have the exact same problem with my Umi Z.The flashlight is preventing the camera app from working; I've tried factory reset, but it did not work.
Later today I'll flash it back to Marshmallow.
