You can see how it performs in relatively bad weather conditions (cloudy winter) in the city.
These are 33 original photos here out from the phone. You can click on them and zoom with your mouse wheel.
The files are renamed by the host application.
If the photos cannot be loaded, you can watch them here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70975707&postcount=9

Sorry for my finger ;)

I know this is a common issue with dashcams that will drop to 1:30 second exposure to provide bright footage at night, and that in turn leave a lot of motion blue for people to deal with.
I myself have no issues with dashcam or other performance in low light, i know its not a issue unless off course you introduce movement in the footage or of the camera.

I will also agree on post processing, but i have never done that to either photos or video as i dont belive in it ( im coming from way back winding raw B&W film on empty cartridges and developing then myself after i taken the photos ( about 3-4 X 36 photos every week for years ), and later on color film though the film by then was stock Kodak film )
Okay you can make adjustments in the dark chamber alright, but again i dident really bother with it.

I am pretty happy with the camera as i will only be using it for 3-4 photos every year, and i am also sure UMI can make it preform better.

I was just surprised my pictures taken in the large green house wasent better after all there was plenty of light, next time i go i will give the pro mode a spin for sure.

Video from the same place and location, using the SJ7 star action camera.

I have been looking at the specs of the individual pictures i have taken today, and it seem like the phone is not happy about upping the ISO.

Only one picture is around ISO 1000, but many is much lower where i using my old SLR cameras would have used a ISO 4 - 800 film to make sure i was able to use a exposure over 1/250 second thats really the slowest you want to use on a handheld camera.

So the phone use a really low ISP and so force itself to use 1/30 or so exposure timing, far too slow for handheld and far too slow for footage with any movement faster than a snail.

I think the camera just need a overhaul, and maybe noise cancellation could work better too

These are just point and shoot photos with the stock camera app, everything left on auto mode. The whole photographing process took for about half an hour. If you download the photos, you can check their properties in the exif info.
In low light conditions if you shoot farther objects, that's better to turn of the laser focus (it has a short distance operating range) and rather help the focusing by tapping a certain area of the screen.

It would be better to answer people's allegations than trying to prove that everything works fine, don't you think so? You have another topic or posts with samples of pictures in terrible quality, where is your answer?

when you zoom in you can clearly see the noise in the pics. My letv/coolpad cool 1 takes better pics than my umi Z

thank you for the sample Photos.
I took also some with daylight --> they're good
--> take some with  ...

"The UMI Z App make a little bit too much color in the photos --> in PRo Mode you can adjust, BUT it is not keeping the setting on the next start of the APP."
This is my finding as well.
Taking one shot  in a good light conditions showed to me that the colors in HDR mode, although looking a bit "washed out" compared to a Standard (Photo) mode, are actually very much closer to reality!
Higher dynamic range is easily noticable when I am looking into the dark areas.
The shot of  a same scene (from about 1 meter distance) taken by Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) was between these two UMI Z pictures speaking of the color saturation.
Resolution of the details was about the same (they are both the same resolution cameras).
Seems that A7 gives more acurate colors in lower light conditions.

It seems you are using another camera. My pictures always are full of noise. They look really bad.

You can read out the exif data from the files. It's a UMi Z without special settings or post processing. Try to take photos with a DSLR, maybe in your hands it won't perform better. Anyway I suggest you to also share some photos here, so I'll have the chance to tell you what the problem can be.

I got my phone yesterday and did a couple of low light photos before i went to bed as i had not been sleeping for 30 hours.

Will snap some pictures on a trip with the small action cameras i am testing, this should be Monday or Tuesday.

I think my cameras are working too, seem okay at least comparing by memory to the 5 mpix ones my dead HTC 8s was able to take.
I will never use the camera anyway, maybe one picture 3-4 times every year, i have a Nikon Dslr for taking nice pictures.

And it is very rare i experience stuff you just got to have a picture off, so far in my 50 years of life that only happened a few times.

thank you for the sample Photos.
I took also some with daylight --> they're good
--> take some with neon light or bad light conditions --> they're getting noisy.

--> i owned a OnePlus One before, also 13Mp --> The UMI Z is better.
Only the OPO mode: Clear Image makes better images. (they took a couple of photos in one shot and then calculating the noise out of it).

The UMI Z App make a little bit too much color in the photos --> in PRo Mode you can adjust, BUT it is not keeping the setting on the next start of the APP.

Switching between Video/Photo, etc is ver tricky with the UMI Z Photo App --> not nice, please change it.

--> I take OpenCamera for photos and Videos now --> very nice.
