Umi plus: Screen DOA (Dead On Arrival)?

Hi there,

After much anticipation my Umi Plus arrived just minutes ago after traveling around the globe for a few weeks. After opening the case I pressed the power button in order to turn the device on. The backlight seems to be turning on, but other then that nothing seems to be happing. The phone vibrated when i turned it on and when I press the fingerprint reader. Still nothing seems to be happing. After pressing multiple buttons, the phone only stated: Do you want to turn on the accessebilty options. So I assume that android itself is working. Please advice on how to fix. I bought the phone In pre-order from Geekbuying.com.

update. Screen is also showing weird vertical lines when backlight is on. Guess it's not a software problem. Contacted customer support to get a replacement.
