random battery drain/black screen

Hi my Hammer S is now starting to have some issues. They are as follows: Thursday night the screen went black and I was unable to unlock the screen. I tried pressing the power button, but got nothing. I removed the battery and still nothing. So I left the phone over night and in the morning, I was able to press the power key and at times double clikc the screen to get to my lock screen. I have disbled the lock screen and any other oprions for locking the phone,  I have also turned off the adaptive brightness which reacts to the time of day and also set the screen to remain on for 30 mins. This appeared to work at first, but tonigh while at work, the same thing with the balck screen, until I came back inside and then a long press on the power button and the phone appeared to work.

However I now have very quick battery drain, both of these have never appeared before. The only thing I can think of is an update to Google Now and this is where the issues appeared to start. Not sure on what to do next.
