USB 3.0

Hi all,

does anyone know if the Umi Hammer S is USB 3.0 compliant?  If it is, is the cable that comes with it USB 3.0 compliant?

I get pretty slow transfer speeds to the device with the supplied cable froma Windows 7 PC's USB 3.0 port.  And Windows complains that the device could work faster if connected to a USB 3.0 port (which it already is).

Hi,

While the USB 3.0 compatibility in a mobile phone has more disadvantages than advantages, the USB 2.0 standard still offers a 60MB/s transfer speed what is quite enough for such flash memory chips used in smartphones. So, you can hardly find a smartphone with USB 3.0 connector.
Your phone might be connected as a USB 1.1 device for some reason, what really can cause a slow transfer speed. You should try to use an other USB cable or connector, or restart your computer.

It is def a USB 3.0 port, and the cable that comes with the device.  For some reason, it seems to be reverting to USB 1 rather than 2, despite USB 3 being backward compatible.

I will connect it to a USB 2.0 port and see how that goes.

Connecting to a USB 2 port on the PC gives me a much faster speed.  So yes, for some reason, connecting to a USB 3 port with the same cable appears to give me USB 1 speeds,
