Help!  I can't post a new thread for some reason...
Issue with Resetting Z2 Pro to Factory settings due to Android 8 pin/pattern not being recognized.
I only have 5 options and none are Clear EMMC.
1. Auto Test
2. Test Report
3. GPS (something)
4. Version Information
5. Restart Phone.

Anyone know how to get to the EMMC option?

I've had the Z2 Pro now for about a month and honestly, it's one of the best phones I've owned (and I've owned a lot of phones...Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi etc.). It's been reliable and everything works great for me (NFC, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Netflix). The build quality is impressive. Looks and feels like a $600 phone.

The feature set is amazing for the price. The MTK P60 SoC is fast (equal to Snapdragon 660 performance) and the memory interface is really fast as well. If this thing had a 3.5mm headphone jack, it would be the perfect phone. The GPU is merely average, but I can play PUBG fine with it but I have to lower the setting some to get it to play smoothly.

To your questions:
1) It doesn't seem like Umidigi is planning an update to Android Pie for this device. There was a post here by one admin saying it was planned, while another said that it wasn't likely. So I guess we'll have to wait and see. But I'm not holding my breath. In any case, there are launchers out there that can give a Pie look-and-feel to Oreo devices, so this aspect wasn't a deal-breaker for me.

2) The current security patch is from early July 2018, and hasn't been updated yet. I asked about this in another thread here but haven't received a reply as of yet. This is actually more important to me than a 9.0 update. I'm hoping it's just a matter of time until they send out an OTA security patch for this phone. I'd hate to have to stop using it because of this. I really love this phone and have already recommended it to two other people who also think it's great.

Thank you sgoddy.   What version of ROM do you have 0823 or 0830?

I still have the 0823 it came with. I didn't see any point in flashing 0830 as it doesn't have any fixes in it. I don't use GooglePay since my previous phones (The Z and Z Pro) didn't have NFC, so it wasn't available.

Once UmiDigi have some fixes in the ROM, I'm sure they will OTA it, so I'm happy to wait for that.

Never in my life have I ever had a brand new model phone that didn't have some issues with it that required OS updates, so I'm fairly chilled about it. That's the price you pay for being at the leading edge. Yes, it should be better, but we don't live in a perfect world and UmiDigi don't seem particularly better, or worse than any others in that respect IMO.

Do you know if the included case will be clear?  I like the look of the phone so will be a shame if the case is dark and doesn't show off the appearance of the phone.  The A1 Pro had a case that was a dark "smoke" color which hides the nice looking silver color of the phone (this is what was included with the wife's A1 Pro).  I later bought a separate clearer one but she thought it didn't protect the phone enough so she kept the darker case

As far as I know the provided case will be the same black one with leather-like texture that comes with the Z2 as well. I guess later clear cases will be available by third party manufacturers.

Google Pay does not work on my Umidigi Z2 Pro. App says the phone is rooted or modified. It's a K.O. criteria for me, I need to pay with my phone.

Next problem: Z2 Pro resets device pin itself. Pin I type in is definetly correct but it always says wrong pin. The problem appears only after a device reboot, not on normal lockscreen..

Not sure this will help since I don't have my Z2 Pro yet, but perhaps check under Settings > System > Developer Options and see if Root Access is disabled or not?

This may not even work as it will depend on what Google is checking for to verify a rooted device.
