Open call dialer and type in *#*#3646633#*#* go to hardware testing - audio - volume - voice.....  ...

Thank you for responding ... I did the procedure and it was very good ... I made some more adjustments and improved even more ... it was under these conditions: Voice UL Gain = 252 ... VoIP UL Gain = 220 ... Audio Playback UL Gain = the same ... Audio Record UL Gain = 240 ... with it all Perfect ... Thanks to all the Friends.

PS: if someone wants to do this procedure is on account of each the risk. Thank you.

I am facing some problems with S2 Lite:

1. The device restarts itself automatically.
It suddenly shows the Umidigi S2 lite splashscreen (when starting), then the messagebox "Android is starting".
Its not a full restart since this would require to provide the SIM key after startup, its only asking for screen unlock key afterwards.
I do not know why its doing that, its just during everyday use.
This happens at least once or twice a week, and sometimes 4 times a day.
Its really annoying !

First I thought this problem is just related to this one phone I got. So I returned it and got another S2 Lite, which is having exact the same problem.

Please provide some info about how to get this solved or at least how to figure out what is causing this.

2. In Camera settings, in Photo settings tab, you have the possibility to set the Auto scenery recognition to either ON or OFF. This setting is always automatically reset to OFF after some time, so its not possible to turn this functionality on.

Please update me on these two issues.
Not getting the first issues solved would result for me in returning the phone again and unfortunately keeping distance to Umidigi in future.

Thanks
P.

I am facing some problems with S2 Lite:

1. The device restarts itself automatically.

First issue can be easily fixed with SPFT and flash complet ROM under firmware upgrade option.
Here is SPFT instruction
http://community.umidigi.com/thread-16931-1-1.html
And here all available ROMs
http://community.umidigi.com/forum-186-1.html
Of course please use latest one.
This latest ROM should fix you camera settings issue because just now I checked on my device and I cannot confirm this issue and I am on latest firmware.

Thanks for the answer.

I just checked on my S2 Lite the currently installed Build-number: UMIDIGI S2 LITE_V1.0_20180402

The latest available ROM from this URL http://community.umidigi.com/forum-186-1.html
is also UMIDIGI S2 Lite V1.0_20180402 ROM - SPFT + OTA release New

So it looks to me that I am already on latest ROM and I have also all latest OATs installed on my device.

So would you still advice me to flash my device to get these issues fixed?

When flashin the device, I would guess that the guarantee ist lost, agree?

Thanks a lot!
P.

You don't lose the warranty by flashing an official stock ROM. Flashing with SP Flash Tool can recover any damaged system data on your phone, so it's not about updating but repairing the software of your device.

Thanks again for the super fast answer!

I am just wondering why the same failure appears on the device I have now and also on my last S2 Lite that I returned due to that bug.
So two different devices with exact the same problem, that doesnt sound to me like one accidentally damaged system.
Thats why I somehow doubt that it will be fixed by flashing the device again.
I just definitely want to make sure that the effort is worth it.

Is there a possibility to readout some logs right after this bug happened again to get a clue about what is happening?

Thanks in advance.

Multiple users reported that, OTA updates can cause such issues and I can confirm that too, so your case can be lifelike since you install the same OTA update(s) on your two phones. You can save a log in the engineer mode with MTKLogger but you probably won't need it.

Flashing my S2 Lite with the latest ROM (UMIDIGI S2 Lite V1.0_20180402 ROM - SPFT + OTA release New) was successful.
Thanks for the good and easy guide, did not expect it to be so uncomplicated, really cool!

Unfortunately I can already confirm that this did not fix the camera problem.
The auto scenery recognition option still gets turnef off automatically, no matter what I do.

I will see if further tests will at least show that the annoying bug about automatically self restarting the device is fixed.

Additonal info to my last post:

The camera problem can be reproduced for me this way:

- open the camera app
- go to "settings" - camera tab
- make sure that auto scenery recognition option is turned ON
- press "back" button of device (closes settings, goes back to camera)
- press "home" button of device (puts camera app in background)
- open the camera app again
- go to "settings" - camera tab
- the auto scenery recognition option is still turned ON
- press "back" button of device (closes settings, goes back to camera)
- press "back" button of device (CLOSES the camera app)
- open the camera app again
- go to "settings" - camera tab
-> the auto scenery recognition option is now turned OFF

RESULT: the auto scenery recognition option (when turned ON) is not saved when closing the app!

I do not guess that this should be the expected behavior!?

For someone who is using the camera of that device frequently this is quite upsetting.
