Edited by Eabani at 2017-5-4 01:15 \n\nHello everybody,

Each time I connect my Z Pro to my Windows 8.1 Pc by USB, I must repeat the same boring manipulations.

Can somebody give me another way to avoid definitely those waste of time ?

I will explain all the process I have to do, so, perhaps you will understand where is the problem.

1) My File Explorer when I have connected my Umidigi :  no physical disk to explore the Umi :

2) Open control panel and choose "system" :

3) Open the device manager :

4) There I find an unknown device

5) I double-cick on it and choose "Driver"

6) Then I choose "update driver" :

7) After that, I must click on "search a driver on my PC..." :

8) Then, "choose among a list of drivers" :

9) Choose "USB device MTP" :

10) I can now see "Windows has updated your driver" :

11) And finally, the Z Pro appears physically into my File Explorer and is accessible :

Each time I disconnect and reconnect my Umi, I must repeat those operations.  On my wife's PC, it is the same game (she has the same operating system).

Thank you for help

Jean-Michel.

Youhouuuuuu ! You were right dear Terry99.  I have uninstalled all what concern the other phones on the PC, restart the computer, reinstall the MTP Z Pro, restart the PC, and now I can connect and disconnect the Umidigi so many times I want to, it succeeds with each stroke.

I love this forum, I love you all.  A big thank to knuti, to chooks06, and, of course, to you, Terry99.

Sure I am not alone to have this kind of problem and I guess this thread will help other users.

If you connect the phone to PC, you have activated USB-Debugging on the phone before?

Edited by Eabani at 2017-5-6 07:22 \n\nHello everybody,

I am sorry but I insist.  I am so satisfied of my Umidigi (apart the lack of raw pictures) but that problem of basic USB connection is ruining the life to me.  I don't find anyway to connect to my PC without making all that boring procedure in the control panel.  I'm afraid to root my Umi because I fear to loose the connection during the operation.  I guess it is a very simple adjustement but I search and search and I don't find which one.

Who has an idea ?

Thank you in advance,

Jean-Michel.

Are the drivers for MTK installed?
When phone is connected to PC, pull down notification bar - if you can see a list of options, select MTP.

I have this trouble when I have drivers for multiple brands of phones installed. If I use my UMi phone from that computer all the time it's OK but if I use my Nexus 5 I have to point it to the correct drivers as above and then do that again when I use the UMi Touch. It's  Windows problem rather than a phone problem.

The problem doesn't come from here.  Thank you for your suggestion.

@Terry99 :

I have indeed the drivers of my "old" Nokia Lumia 1520 windows phone still installed on my PC and the drivers of the Lumia 950 XL of my wife.  I will try to uninstall them and come back here to say what happens.  Many chances you gave me the solution ... I hope
