Cant seem to get sim card slot 1 working? the right side of the sim tray. Sim slot 2 works, but the other side just flat out doesnt dectect a sim card is in there. running "UMI Z.V3.01_20170116". i did cut the sim card myself down from micro to nano, but it cant be that because it works in the other slot and i tried it in another phone. Could it be software? or some pins not making contact in the phone?

Hi
As you mentioned you cut sim card and maybe sharp edge of your card bent pin so I suspect that is hardware failure.
Did you try your cut sim card in second slot?
I hoping that you activated sim slot in system (settings - sim cards - sim one). Sometimes you need reboot phone with sim cards in phone to activate sim cards.
Also you can try perform factory reset incase system error (settings - backup and reset - factory data reset)
