This is the downloadable FOTA update file of the
V3.01_20161209 Android 7.0 firmware
for UMI Plus

UMI Plus receives all updates automatically via FOTA method. You need this update file only if you haven't received or - due to lack of internet access - cannot receive it automatically.

Manual (local) OTA update method instructions
  • Copy the downloaded .zip file to either the internal memory or the SD card of your phone
  • Go to Settings --> About phone --> Wireless update
  • Tap the 3-dot menu button at the top right corner and select Local updates
  • Brows for the ...update.zip file and select it
  • Tap Install now, comfirm the process with OK and wait until the process will be finished

Update file for manual OTA update: UMi_Plus_V3.01_20161213_update.zip
Compatible with TWRP as well but cannot be installed on modified (ever rooted) systems

Optional method (in case if the manual OTA update gets stuck): Install from recovery
You need a microSD card (with at least 4GB capacity) installed in your phone!
  • Copy the ...update.zip file to your SD card
  • Press and hold the volume-up and power buttons together until your phone restarts. It needs about 10 seconds or a little bit less if your phone was already powered off.
  • When your phone is restarted, immediately release the power button but still hold the vol-up button until you see a lying android figure with an exclamation mark in red triangle on its tummy.
  • Press and hold the power and vol-up buttons (in this order) together, then release them to call the recovery menu. Now you can move with the volume buttons and select an item with the power button.
  • Move to ‘Apply update from SD card’ and select it.
  • On the next screen brows for the update file and select it. The updating process will start and needs a few minutes to be finished.
  • After a succcessful installation you can read the ''Install from sdcard complete'' message and the receovery menu is available again.
  • Select 'Reboot system now'. Alternatively you can perform a factory data reset here by choosing 'Wipe data/factory reset'

Hi,

1. Copy the downloaded file in the phone : CHECK

Firstly please update your phone to http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5840-1-1.html
Then try to android 7.0
If your system is modified (ever rooted) OTA update will not work.

Hmmm.
Maybe firstly please do factory reset.  Settings - backup and reset - factory data reset.
Charge and reboot phone then go to settings - about phone - wireless update - press three dots on top right corner - local update - internal storage and search for update zip file.
Let me know what happened.

Is that .zip complete ROM? I need root for some apps Im heavy user of,so I have SuperSU+TWRP. Is there possibility of flashing Nougat with TWRP or do I have to wait for official flashable ROM or get back stock ROM w/o TWRP,upgrade to 7.0 and then can I re-root?

This update package was thoroughly tested (it's that same one that you can download wireless) and it works perfectly.
Try to install it from an SD card, not from the internal memory. Also (as MarcinP mentioned) a factory data reset before starting the update process can help.
One more such comment and you'll be banned.

The official flashable ROM is available here: http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5751-1-1.html
You can use the same TWRP and root it with SuperSU 2.78 or newer versions. Older versions are not Android N compatible.

Edited by dustojnikhummer at 2016-12-25 08:16 \n\nSo,go to twrp, wipe old installation, flash this new ROM,boot into 7.0,reflash TWRP with Flashtool (if I cannot access TWRP,same happened with lst OTA update but I was expecting that) and flash newest SuperSU? Thank you for help
And one thing,on your tutorials that include Flashtool, can you add comment about flashtool working correctly only on USB 2.0? I tried 3 PCs,only USB 2.0 ports work with Flashtool.
