Dear UMi Plus users,

Many users don't care about what Android version is installed on their phones, some of them are interested but it's not urgent for them but some of them need the upgraded version as soon as possible. However, the OTA server cannot make a such difference between users when pushing out the update files.
Now we offer a dedicated Android 7.0 OTA upgrade for UMi Plus to every user, who needs it urgently.
How it works?
You just have to send your IMEI number (only one of the two but whichever) in an email to (address removed by the author)
Please write in the topic field only (the body won't be read) as the following: UMi Plus Android 7.0 OTA - IMEI: 123456789012345
Of course, enter your own, unique 15-digit IMEI number. Please double check it before sending.
You can print on screen your IMEI numbers by dialing *#06#
We will hand over your IMEI number to the product engineer, and he will send the update file directly to your phone. The whole process needs 2-3 days to be done as promised.
Warning! Don't post your IMEI number here on the forum, where anybody can see it. It's a private data that makes it possible to identify your location.

Sincerely yours,
Ben

To obtain this update is getting even more difficult than hack an FBI data server.

Sorry Ben,
I will receive next week (I hope) my UMI PLUS E.
It will have Android 6.0 ROM. When I will receive the smartphone , if available, I will upgrade it to 7.0
The question is: in this case, what is the difference from "OTA , over the air update" , and "FOTA firmware over the air update ?"
When I will receive the smartphone , which will be the correct choice ?

Thanks in advance
Stefano

Hi
There is no difference between OTA and FOTA android 7.0 update. Both are over the air, both will wipe all you data from phone. Could be different if you get OTA zip file because then you need start all update manually setting - about phone - wireless update - press three dots on top right corner - local update - internal storage - choose correct zip file.
FOTA as name is saying firmware over the air only firmware.
OTA as name is saying over the air any updates etc. no limits
