Hi all, my Umi Plus runs firmware version 20161117, that was downloaded via FOTA. Is this an official update from Umi?

I am awaiting Android N FOTA update but the 'Wireless update' option has disappeared from the 'Phone information' menu in Settings. Is this normal?

Thank you!

Hi
This what I know any full ROM changes can't be done by FOTA so don't expect that you will get through to FOTA (file is to big) . Definitely will be available through to SPFT and probably through to OTA.
Any FOTA update is umi official update. Currently we don't have this 20161117 ROM available for OTA and SPFT update.

Thank you for your quick reply. Is it normal that after rom update 20161117 I can't search for firmware updates manually any longer?

Umi announced that the OTA update for Android N was released yesterday and should reach all users within 24 hours but I haven't received any notificación in my phone about a new firmware available. How will I be able to update to Android N?

Many thanks.

You will not get any notification as this is not FOTA update. As I said big update like Android 7.0 needs to be done by OTA or SPFT. Here is link for ANDROID 7.0 update by OTA. http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5751-1-1.html

If you have any problems with wireless update (OTA)  please use SPFT and come back to previous ROM  from this link http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5069-1-1.html and then use OTA wireless update from this link http://community.umidigi.com/thread-5751-1-1.html to get Android 7.0.
Don't forget read all instructions.

So, there's no FOTA update for Android N? I think that UMI said that it should update. Before I have a UMI Plus, I had a Nexus 5 and it does every big version update via FOTA or OTA or whatever they called it.
UMI has the option to update via a file in the system?, can I put the .rar on my internal memory and do the update?

There is always three options
1 . FOTA most time only repairing patches you not loose you data
2. OTA file download through to wi-fi or sim data or OTA zip file
3. Whole ROM download through to SPFT.
Currently we have available whole ROM and you need use SPFT.
Probably soon we will get OTA zip file.
OTA update is on servers but could be there some delay between devices. Some people updated already with OTA (they mentioned about 1.2 GB of file) and SPFT.

You describe, that with 2nd link there are informations about OTA of Android 7.But this is not true...your replies are so inconsisstent at Umi and i am thinking about to sell my phones...
1st you announce Umi is so close to Vanilla Android and provides OTAs on your offical website, then you say...we did not have understand it, but other people already get it, but if we are true, there is no OTA, and we are not able to provide, properly...

I never lost any data with FOTA/OTA by Google on my Nexus devices...perhaps you shoould google that or ask directly at the source of your android images...
