I have my Umi Super working fine. Do i update available FOTA?

Hi

My Umi Super works fine with no issues other than sub par camera quality which many think is software.

Anyway my phone is offering UMI_SUPER V3.01_20160525 FOTA 13.54 mbs.

Anyone know if i will get negative issues if i update to this FOTA?

Hey,

Reading this forum since I've got my Super, a month and a half back. Have the gold-rose version. Once I've got it have updated it to the latest FOTA (16.06) and again to 08.07 as it was released. Have not root it yet.

Have almost all the issues which are described in here, less the scratches on the screen panel. I'm not using any screen protection and seems to be as new, but again have not drop it nor place it in my pocket together with other objects.

With both of FOTAs the issues are:

- Camera (using the stock app) - some of the pics are fine ( may get better when using the specific scene modes ), some are yellowish, colors not vivid enough, autofocus gets stuck when focusing on objects really closed to the lens and after can't change focus to other distance. Have to restart the app and shake the phone for focus to work as before.
-Battery - sucks. Was better with 16.06 FOTA thou. Have installed a third battery app and seems to gain a few more hours ( half a day ).
3G/4G - living in a bordering 3G/4G area and sometimes there is no signal due to often network change. Have noticed that this happens more often when the battery is under 35% - 30%, maybe is just a coincidence ( not using any power saving future that may affect that ).
GPS - it is connecting fast enough. Accuracy gets better after 1min of usage. Have using Google maps and Waze. The speed seems to update with a delayed of 2 - 3 sec. Have not use it for more than 30min.
Dispaly - Had the same "screen burn" / adhesive failure, more noticeable under grey background. Have kept it under clear sunny sky for half an hour and is far better. The seller has refund me some bucks ( a quarter from the whole price ) to not send it back and use it as is.

Hoping for a new/quick update which will fix all of the problems. I'll give till the end of the month and if nothing happens, no CM13 nor a proper FOTA then bye bye UMI and be a lesson learned for me.

If they do not learn from their mistakes... I'm smarter :-)....

Sorry late reply. Yes updated. Camera more responsive. GPS still wanders. No worse. Overall it's better to update in my case.

My UMI runs without problems.
(Only camera is still not perfect, but better than at the beginning.)
I recently updated Super 3.02_20160810.
I use daily for 2 hours navigation (Waze),
write a lot (WhatsApp),
read e-mail and News and at the evening I still have 40-50%.

I don't use Google Maps.
When navigating with Waze, Sygic and Navigon I have no particular deviations.
At some road junctions it sometimes happens that my UMI takes the wrong turn.
After a short time, it recognizes and jumps back to the right road.
The same I had with my S3, S4 and LG G4 and therefore it does not bother me very much.
I live in southern Germany.

Hi,
in Italy, with my OLD previous LG L9II, I've never never seen similar GPS problem or poor picture quality.....!
same with my wife LG L90. both are old and cheaper phone.
My Super is not usable nor as a GPS neither  as a camera.
