Dear UMi users,

Since the 2014 flagship UMi Zero (Android 4.4), each UMi smartphone shows the currently connected mobile network type with full size letters on the toolbar, regardless of that, we are connected to mobile data service or a Wi-Fi router. By this solution you always know about the connected mobile network type even if you are on Wi-Fi, and if you are on mobile data, that's easier to read out the big letters than those very small ones above the mobile signal reception bar. However, some users claim that, those "big" letters are ugly, we don't need to know about the mobile network type when we are on Wi-Fi and those characters just take some place of the toolbar redundantly.
Now we would like to know about how the mass of users thinks about it.
Please vote, which one you prefer!

Current design
Advantages:
1. You always know about the current mobile network type, even if you are on Wi-Fi, so you know whether
  (a) you can use special 3G/4G services offered by your service provider or
  (b) if you're on a weak Wi-Fi connection, you can decide without turning the Wi-Fi off whether it's worth to change to mobile data or not.
2. The big letters showing the connected mobile network type are easier to read out.

Disadvantages:
1. The big letters look ugly (that depends on your own taste).
2. To know the mobile network type is needless when connected to Wi-Fi.
3. Those big letters take some precious place on the toolbar.
4. When connected to mobile data, the current mobile network type is redundantly shown on two places beside each other.

New (desired) design
Advantages:
1. You get a standard toolbar display without "ugly" big letters.
2. You are not informed about the connected mobile network type when you don't really need it since you are on Wi-Fi (some users might always need it as described above).

Disadvantages:
1. You won't know about the connected mobile network type when you are on Wi-Fi, so in that case you won't know whether special 3G/4G services are available or if it would be worth to change to mobile data.
2. Even if you are on mobile data, that's more difficult to read out the very small letters showing the current mobile network type above the mobile signal reception bar. That could be a pain for myope users.

Please consider the above advantages and disadvantages, take a look on the following figure, then place your vote.
Thank you for your cooperation.

I for one don't have any problem with the big letters. I keep my notification list lean and tight therefore I don't understand the space issue...
The better readability is a valid argument imho though.

But I honestly hope this isn't a top priority on your developers' list, is it ?!

Dear SierraBravo,

Currently this thing is not in consideration by the developers but this topic frequently pops up in accordance of all UMi smartphones. This poll is just a servey of average user opinions.
Anybody can add new advantages or disadvantages by comments.

I can see why it was implemented but I also felt it was unneeded. In fact I spent like 15mins trying to turn it off simply because it looks tacky. Makes the phone come off as cheap. At this point it doesn't matter to me since Xposed work and thus I use GravityBox. Another thing that makes the Umi Super phone come off as cheap is the default DPI. It's set as if this a 720 display.
U should disable the full size letter until it can be turned off in the System UI Tuner.

Personally I think that the new design is more attractive, and gives me all the information I want, but in a 'neater', compact and more professional looking format, so it gets my vote!
