Hello,

I don't know if any of you have used Android Auto successfully, but I can't use it. I connect my Umi iron and I just got a blank screen. Android Auto is running on my phone, but no image is displayed at my head unit.

After reading some forums, all advise to try out different USB cables, but I've tried 5 so far and none works with Android Auto.

Is there a setting that I should apply? What other similar Mediatek phones are like the Umi Iron? so I can broad my search.

Thank you for your help.

OK, I have the answer now. If anyone is interested to know.

After days and days of help from the Android Auto app support people, we discovered that the USB port speed is the culprit of the problem.

It is just too slow the USB port. It cannot display the information quick enough to work.

I ordered the Xiaomi Note 3 to replace my Umi. It is really a shame, as it is a good phone after all.

One more reason why UMI should fix the slow USB issue.

Yes, I have to agree the issue appears to be the USB transfer rate is too slow.
The moral of the story - buy a cheap phone, you get rubbish and you get no support from the supplier.
I wasted hours of my life trying to resolve the issues.
