Now it hit me...USB-C socket is broken/burned

my UMI-Z isn't charging anymore.
When i inspected the USB-C socket, it is burned and no more contact is possible!
I used the original charger and cable.
How to proceed?
possible to change?
Where to get parts?
--> that is really annoying.. it was working so good...

After now charging every 12h and with only 1-2h SoT --> the phone is workign again as normal.
It is going into deep sleep like it should and the SOT is back to 3-5h.
I thin the burned side of the connector inside of the socket is now doing not anymore a shortcut..
still waiting for spare part..

@  UMI:
can you maybe offer a E-bay/Amazon store that can send spare from Europe?
So your customer in Europe would be faster getting spare parts?

Yesterday I received the replacement USB-Board
--> installed it
--> works, very nice.
My UMI Z is back on track :-)
the original USB-C cable i will throw away, bought high quality ones from another brand.

@Umi:
You want to react as a global player --> then please have also the spareparts available within 3-5 working days, globally!

@Umi:
The Z is really user friendly for repair, nice job.
Only the Powerbutton and the volume button get easily lost during repair.. the buttons are not fixed with clamp to the housing.

no, really on telephone side.... f**k shit..
I will use only the magnetic versions on next smartphones...
search google for "USB C magnetic"
but in meantime, i need a replacement board...

Hi,
yesterday i disassembled the UMI Z.
see the burned socket.
I was able to recharge it after a cleaning.
but today it is not charging, maybe also cable issue.
I have to order the new part... :-(

\n\nSince that: i have a heavy battery drain, somthing is keeping the phone alive.. I already made a factory reset..installed only few apps to survive...but it is always active...
Battery view shows me nothing helpfull...

I suspecting poor earth in USB due to USB cable cause high current flow and overheat.
I would clean USB port and buy new USB cable.

took another cable --> it is only charging in one direction put in...
the connector inside the socket is burned on one side
--> spare part is ordered..
good job from UMI, that this easy accessible, even the fingerprint sensor is easy to change...

But in meantime the phone is not getting into the deep sleep mode...
I think the USB-connector is smelted somewhere together.. when i reboot the phone it sometimes things, that it is charging, but no cable is connected..
will keep you updated..
