Well great. I bought my UMI Super because it was the cheap, super-powerful Pokemon GO machine. And now Pokemon GO has updated and doesn't like the UMI Super any more.
I could tolerate this sort of thing with the Opal Travel app (Sydney public transport) since I figure one app being extremely paranoid about unofficial Android phones was rare, but that's it. Please, PLEASE make sure the UMI Super works with Pokemon Go and other apps that dislike rooted phones.
I haven't even rooted or flashed my phone - I specifically avoided testing the Nougat beta so I could play Pokemon GO a little longer just in case I screwed up the upgrade and angered the security-paranoid apps - but wow. I've done everything right and not touched any rooting or flashing software or beta upgrades, and I still get screwed over because the UMI ROMs aren't secure.
Like another user said in another thread:
Please tell the development team to sign the ROM using release keys before shipping the final! More and more (it seems) "critical" apps (like banking apps, and some versions of the Wear Companion app) seems to check this, and refuse to run, rejecting the device as "tampered with" if it's signed with test keys. |
