Umi Still not received Andoroid 7.0 source code for the Helio X27 platform from MediaTek. as per U ...

I'm not happy with the phone, but in this case UMI is not responsible of the late update. It is true that for the future, UMI should think about changing Mediatek supplier.

What is inadmissible is the situation of the "new" Helio X27 from Mediatek side.....

UMI, would you take the opp when coding the Nougat for the UMIDIGI Z PRO and make an option to change the Home Button Long Press to open the Google Now On Tap instead of opening the recent apps panel?!?!? Same way, please make an option to change the left button to open the recent apps panel instead of opening the configuration panel, making your phone as "normal" android please. Thanks a lot !

I subscribe to this. I tried remapping the buttons using the solutions described in the forums but it didn't work. Maybe because I reversed back and menu in the settings.
Still, having to long press the home button for recent apps is not convenient. I hope they change this with the nougat update as having a separate "recent apps" buttons allows to implement the cool feature of being able to double tap it to switch to last app.
Cheers!

long press the home button for recent apps is convenient.

How is it convenient when you have to wait longer (long press) to perform such a frequently used action instead of one light touch. Also with this configuration we lose the option to long press home button for google assistant.
When you choose to do android nav keys different than the majority of manufacturers at least you shoud provide an option to go back to default. Just look how a lot of people (and many well known reviewers) breathed relieved when Samsung provided the option to switch back and recent apps buttons on Galaxy S8. There is also a lot of controversy around the trend to do all nav actions with one button using swipes and long press on the fingerprint scanner (see latest Huawei and Moto phones). I still believe that the classic android layout with three buttons is the best.
Thank you!

The UMI Zero was released with Kitkat and lollipop was promised to come soon OTA. It never came and Mediatek was blamed. UMI knows why Nougat has been delayed for two months. They don't tell because Nougat doesn't work on the UMI Z.

Lollipop upgrade was never promised for UMi Zero. Nobody was blamed, it simply was not planned and not promised.  Post time 2017-5-16 09:40

I would assume beta are doing fine since we don't hear anything from the users that have tried it, i mean otherwise people have been quick to point out issues, and i would assume its the same people having issues with android 6 that have tried the beta of android 7.

Myself i just wait until its ready OTA, and then i will update from the current android 6 that i don't have any major gripes with.
