Just received this OTA on the 4/64 which I passed over to somebody..

Hello,
there are experiences with root and unroot the device? I have tried to unroot (complete unroot in superSU) to install the new OTA 20170929. Unroot completed, but system update stops with error "device is rooted and cannot be updated". It is definitly not rooted anymore. And additionally i can not root anymore in developer options, this stops after shutdown and 20% system update with error. Where is my mistake?

That did work - but why would I need to wipe my phone for an update to work? That's plain awful.

My Crystal was rooted too, so I had to unroot it with SuperSU. This messed up everything, and I had to flash the version before with SP Tools and update via OTA (no root). For future updates I was thinking about flashing the zip manually with Flash Fire or if that doesn't work, to flash with SP Tools (but please, UMIDIGI, release the ROM accordingly). There we could try to untick "user data". Hopefully that prevents user data loss.

Anyone, who has tested this? without root and therefore without titanium backup i do not want to lose my data. Is there any reference to what the last update 20170929 is good for?

I have tried it successfully. I flashed rom V1.1_20170903 and in sp flash tool i untick preloader, cache and user data. This works fine, no data lost and now root in developer section works again.

hello i have remove the root but the update 20170929 still does not work.
it marks "error" at restart. I put the smarphone in factory but it still works not I understand

I made an update on V1.1_20170929_20170929-1455, the cell phone works much better than before but still has lags on the applications, the gps does not work properly

Same here. After unroot and flash V1.1_20170903 OTA Update still not possible. But now V1.1_20170929 can easily flashed with sp flash tool, this will remove root in system section. After that Root with click in developer menu works fine. Great changes between the versions I didnt found, but the gps of my device was satisfactory from the beginning.
