Please reboot your device (switch off for few minutes and then switch on) to deactivate all background running apps. Then go to memory and check average memory usage and compare with memory usage standby after nighty

It's time to provide you with a feedback.
I have factory reseted the device, switched it off for 10 minutes, fully charged the phone and left it on a standby overnight (WiFi, BT, mobile data, location etc. are all switched off).
I haven't installed any software,  just factory defaults.
From 11pm to 8am battery level stopped at 97%.
This is the only situation at which UMI Z has a descent, but still very average consumption.
As soon as you install the real world applications (Outlook for Android connected with exchange server, Calendar connected with Google Calendar, Gmail connected to Google account etc.) overnight standby consumes at least 10% of the battery (WiFi, BT, mobile data, location etc. are all switched off as well).
This picture ilustrates the same conditions but from 4 pm to 8 am (everything swithced off, phone not used at all, left just on a standby).
Screenshot_20170306-082108.png
18% consumption for 16 hours in a standby mode.

My conclusion:
  • Developers need to put a really serious work to make a better optimization which should lead into satisfactory battery life.
  • Since I am not a demanding user (I do not rely much on WiFi, BT, mobile data, location and similar) the current battery life is below the average having in mind the advertising on the UMI Z web page.

Hi
Sorry but I don't fully understand your complaints. As you mentioned 18% of battery drain in 16 hours (including two sim cards in standby mode) so if you calculate,  full battery should last up to 3 days and 16 hours which should be fine.
Please test your phone how long last with screen on and playing film etc. And let me know.
Of course engineers still trying improve system.

Well and there is a whole lot of room for improvement.
I get around 3:30 sot with social and browsing. Nothing really demanding.
Thats exactly what my old Note 4 managed to get with a 3100mha cell and the burning Snapdragon 805.

Besides that the system does not recognize touches every now and then. And the overall performance is poor. Would expect this phone to have 35k antutu score not even 80k.

When can we expect next ota?

Hi

I would say then in another way:
1. Factory reseted device, switched off for 10 minutes, fully charged and left on a standby overnight (WiFi, BT, mobile data, location etc. are all switched off).
Factory preinstalled software, nothing in additional.
From 11pm to 8am battery level stopped at 97%.
That means 9 hours devided by 3% equals 3 hours per one battery percent.
If I put the phone on standby and not using it at all battery would last for 12 days and 12 hours.

2, In a real world, having installed just a few third party applications battery should last way more than just 3 days and 16 hours having in mind the fact that a phone is sleeping all the time being just in standby mode.
This can not be satisfying taking into account the Sony 3780 mAh battery and "...unmatched power efficiency...outstanding power consumption...20% less of IGZO screen consumption etc." as being advertised for the screen and X27 procesor. If it is not so lightening fast as we have already seen then let it be at least more power efficient.
My real world usage is not related to watching the films but to make phone calls, sending and receiving messages, using calendar, check private and corporate emails and a bit of browsing, most of the time.
    Nothing too much demanded.
For that reason I wouldn't test it playing the film since that is not much relevant for my user profile..
So yes, there is a huge difference between 12 days and 12 hours and 3 day and 16 hours which must be lowered to a great degree.

Hi
When you talking about IGZO screen power consumption you should test with screen on constantly to check how long battery last.
As I said engineers still working to improve power consumption.
As you said you using browser etc but question is are you using wi-fi or sim data?  One sim or two, sd card capacity, how many apps running in background etc.
Please go to settings and type in to magnifier Bluetooth then find from list Bluetooth scanning and switch off wi-fi and Bluetooth scanning.
Hopefully this action smallbit improve your battery consumption.
