yes, fix the problem please. It also takes more than 2 hours to get full charged

..i agree...There is a sign on the charger 1.67A...so practically we have a regular-speed charger.  Post time 2017-2-28 00:07

Ill have to admit i noticed that charging issue too, it took me longer than claimed in the colorful material on the Z and my phone wasent even close to 0.

But it dont really bother me much as i use my phone so little and i have a charger at home and it also get charged in the car when docked ( 2.4 A )

Is it generally recommendable to go as low to 1% with the battery?

0% or 1% dont mean volts on the battery, the battery inside the phone have a charge/discharge circuit to make sure it dont get damaged.

In my RC cars i never let the LIPO batteries go under 3.2 volts/cell, if you go lower than 3.0 volts / cell you might damage your battery.

Even a regular car battery is also not meant for deep discharge, if you run your car battery down to 11 volts regular it will die pretty quick.

Letting a phone discharge to the level it shut itself off should be no problem.

Sorry but I can't agree with you about 0 or 1%. All this information are only calculations from phone system (battery drain, screen on, etc., standby on time etc)
Ever umi phone (and all other new phones) have battery safe mode and minimum battery voltage is 3,4V and maximum is 4,4V. But if you will be using your phone very a little battery up to 4 days phone will switch off with around 3,6V but when you will be using phone hard battery 1 to 2 days, screen on 5-9 hours phone will switch off with 3,4 V.
If phone shut down due to low voltage (low battery level)  firstly system activate slow charging mode 5V and around 0,43A until battery recovery which could take around 15 minutes then will change to quick charging. But your charging calculation time will already increase of this slow charging that why I not recommending drain battery until phone switch off itself.

Perhaps thats why my RC batteries dont last that long

Though i think the simmilareties are there, then there is vast differences in how phone and RC batteres are used, even though my kind of use is not the highest AMP kind i think its safe to say my kind of use there is much higher than a battery in a phone, even if we some himes get 2 hours worth of driving from a 5 - 5500 MAH battery ( 3 cell )
And offcourse the way and places we drive it is often fair to say our little RC cars are actually more like RC submarines.
My friends high power RC boat drain its two 5 cell high discharge ( 7 - 80 C )  batteries in minutes, while it fly low across the water at 100 - 150 km/h just low enough to scoop water up and funnel it thru the watercooled ESCs and brushless motors.

Some battery makrs for RC even claim their batteries can go as far down as 2.8 Volts, but i have allways used 3.2 Volts as cutoff on the ESC.
And with those numbers my pretty expensive chargers never slow charge to start with, only at the end of the charge cycle do they drop to lower amps to top off the battery.
For the most time my RC batteries spend in a fireproof safe and with storage charge on them ( 75 % )

I have exactly just like what you've said. What happend then?
Battery is draining faster than before.
Before, when I fully charged it at late night - let say at 10pm or 11pm and leave it on standby (everything else is turned off) I could see it in the morning at 98% or 97%.
After I implemented your proposal - 89% at the best case.
The conditions were exactly the same.
So I can confirm that I now have a quick battery discharge issue like other guys here.
Your comment would be highly appreciated.

Maybe some apps was running in background or something else.
Please open settings and type in in search option "Bluetooth"  you should get list of different settings. Please pick Bluetooth scanning and switch off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scanning.
Battery level is most time calculated from previous usage so if you used your phone more heavy day before then your battery level indicator will work different.

Bluetooth and WiFi scanning were both switched off.
Most of the standby consumption was related just to the system iddle which was very hungry these days.

I will closely monitor the device these days.
